I thought Jones had a good game and seems to be on a nice improvement curve.

Buddy was a genius today and the midfield was very effective.

The first half was poor and if we'd kicked better we'd have won by well over 100 points but when you are finding faults in a 81 point loss, albeit against a sub standard team, then I guess that is a decent situation to be in.

Funnily enough I see next week against the Tigers as a real banana skin

Haven't seen the game but why would you move Heeney out of the forward line?

I'd like to see McGlynn out of the team. He's too frustrating to watch. Regularly wasteful with the ball. Missed a few goals today. Too small to have an impact. Game has passed him by. Would rather Rohan or Towers in the team. At least they're young and have potential. McGlynn is finished imo.

However, if it's forecast to rain, bring McGlynn in for a one-off game. Plays well in the wet.

On that note, Sinclair needs to get his finger out. He had 3 set shots (I think) which all missed.

Excellent win. We are in the midst of a very soft part of the draw . Tigers (a team of list cloggers) next!

              Our bogey team.

Though, Rance is still out, right?

Because he's terrific all around the ground! Felt like he was everywhere at once tonight. I do like him forward best though.

Jones got junk tome possessions. Not convinced of him.

No, Rance, Cotchin & Grimes back next week. DANGER GAME!

No way should we drop next week, Wretchmond are poor in contested ball, nonsense game plan, down on confidence, great time to stick it right up them and have them limp off 1-7! Swans, do not drop this game.

Robbo is out, probably BJ in. Be interesting to see if any other changes are made, Rohan only played a half in the NEAFL this week so he is at least another two weeks away.

I though Zac was good, happy to put his head over the ball and quick to make sure there were few uncontested loose balls in our D50.

                      Agreed!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Well that's incredibly disappointing since Rance almost always cleans up Buddy (Via cheating). Very dirty player.

I expect Richmond to lift against us as usual.

I think we'll see him playing most of the time in the forward line but he'll move up the ground as required.

I personally think he's best served for the team as a forward and I reckon he could have 50 goals in him this year

                              Friday a huge danger game

Robbo out and Ted in would seem to make sense if Ted does come back next week.

Just back from the Riser and what a great night. First half we only played in spurts of brilliance surrounded by minutes of half-baked drivel. Buddy and his little mate, together with our mids, kept us in it. The second half was another story. There was a sense of purpose, determination in defending (Reg and Rampe were outstanding, despite the odd glitch, and Smithy was back in touch) and moving the ball quickly in attack - Cunningham did a couple of brilliant things here.

There were a couple of people who could do with a bit of specialist work: Benny and Callum Sinclair to work on accuracy, and Callum Mills to work on his decision making when passing to another player. I know, he's only young, but every week at some point he kicks and/or passes direct to an opponent.

The main positive thing I see is the way older and younger players are learning to work together. The synergy between Buddy and Isaac is almost uncanny. Then we have the senior citizens down the back (such as Laidler) coaching the excitable youngsters (such as Jones, who wasn't penalised once for his conduct as far as I could see).

After the song was sung Eddie appeared to fill us in on football in general. Lots of loud boos and laughter. It was a good night all round. I'm sorry to hear about Dan Robinson, and wish him a rapid recovery. Who will fill his shoes?

I should have added that it was good to see the boys mob Craig Bird after the game, much as they did with Lewis Jetta a couple of weeks back. Helps build the spirit of the game.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
