BJ for Robbo as he's been BOG last two weeks and appears to have lifted his intensity. Disposal is ordinary but that will fit right in with our senior squad!

Possibly. Though I thought Abe was very good today in the reserves, playing a similar kind of role that Robinson's been playing in the seniors. They seem to be trying to turn him more into a bigger bodied midfielder than a key position player - possibly because he lacks a yard of pace.

If he's ready I'd prefer Abe as it's yet another debutant and would be 5 in 8 weeks (Mills, Papley, Hewett, AA and Abe).

BJ will get his chances I suspect and it's good to hear he is coming along nicely.

McVeigh watch: he was pretty good.

Hate playing Richmond - I see them as a bogey team.
Hope the Swans go in with the same concerns.

Bombers disposal was perfect in the first half. They were fast, found plenty of space, created more opportunities than we did. We got on top of them in the same way. All things considered, I think 81 points was a superb result.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Robinson popped his shoulder and Longmire was asked whether he's done it before and said no. But I swear I remember him hurting his shoulder late last year, and remember seeing him in a sling watching a reserves game from the sidelines.

Just saw a stat that all 7 of Essendons goals came from turnovers, not one did they create from a centre bounce, kick in or stoppage.

So if we could have tidied up those turnovers, they wouldn't have scored a goal!

He seemed that Robinson had a job on Goddard before he came of. He always seemed to be 5 metres behind Goddard. Goddard is a beutiful player to watch live. His field kicking, marking and running through the lines is a delight to watch.

If Davis makes a senior debut then he has beaten the odds. He was taken at a pick in the 70s (like Jesse White). Players taken that low in the draft rarely make it.

Hiscox in the 2nd round looks a rather wasteful pick at this stage.

Interesting call Liz. I wonder if they will go with with more experienced BJ to give us extra pace against the dangerous Wretchmond rather than blood Abe in such a game at the MCG in front of a parochial Tiger army?

Players on just the Swans list currently, taken below 70 in the National Draft (in their original draft year) who have played at least one game of senior AFL footy:

                      Jack
                      Rampe
                      Jack
                      Cunningham
                      Grundy
                      X Richards
                      Lloyd
                      Laidler
                      Smith
                      Papley
                      Robinson
                      Naismith
                      McGlynn

He's got a few role models to choose from.

So it might be three weeks in a row that we play a team back into form.I think the Lions had 45 more possessions than they have had in any other game. The Bombers said that the first half was the best they have played all year.

Why us - can't they just beat up the premiers?

Richmond will probably have their best side for the year playing next week, so would expect them to put up a good fight. It's natural for teams to get up when they face the best opposition. We do. However we go against the Tigers, I think we will be up for the Hawthorn match the following week, and expect they will too.

Probably the thinking going through players' minds is 'how hard do i have to go to beat these guys' and then turn the dial up to meet the circumstances.

The 'Eddie hatred factor' has permeated through all the other teams it seems.......even Leppitch's post match rant had an air of Eddie in it, it makes you sick.

Eddie was disgusting last night in his wrap up, he said something along the lines of "Franklin, Tippet and Heeney, their three controversial recruits in recent years, all had great games." He just can't let it go and has to keep provoking and trying to create ill feeling towards the Swans.
