All these changes make good sense to me.
Really looking forward to seeing what X Richards can deliver at senior level...A 2nd target was sorely missing last week.
As for Foote...It's always fun watching a rookie, hopefully plenty of enthusiasm and a maiden goal.
Perhaps Cunningham may play as a running defender and Heeney can play in a forward pocket,
that would give us 3 marking targets up forward !Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

All in all pretty satisfied with the changes. Would have maybe preferred B Jack to Harry but only because from what I've seen he's been quite consistent and deserves a chance ( In match reports , not viewing games). Harry was good early on this season though so no major qualms there. Excited to see what X bringing to the table as a forward, I've heard his pace mentioned in a couple of pieces, wasn't aware he had any so that's a pleasant surprise. Foote, another debutante! always happy to see more new blood coming through ( what a year it has been for that !) Heeney needs no introduction.

Pretty sure Cunningham was preferred to BJ because he's going to play in our defence and BJ has no experience there
The big question is who will be the seventh back - Foote, Heeney, Rohan, Towers, Lloyd are all possibilities.Comment

His main challenge will be to maintain the intensity for the full game, as he can tend to seem a little lackadaisical at times. When he's competing for the ball he'll probably be fine, but it will be interesting to see if he's able to apply - for a whole four quarters - the kind of defensive forward line pressure that is expected at AFL level but not quite so important at NEAFL level. Expect to see a defender run off him now and again because he's slow to react to what is expected (not because he lacks the pace to chase).Comment

X does have the laconic running style but I won't let that trick me
He works hard"be tough, only when it gets tough"

I suspect it's about cadence, the rate at which the legs move. Aliir's legs don't move all that fast, but he does. Harry C's legs move fairly quickly, and so does he. Maybe Xav is more like Aliir in that respect. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. Good changes. McGlynn just isn't delivering at senior level, Ted didn't do that much either. Losing two running defenders - ouch.
Ins have rewarded form. Heeney is a no brainer, Foote has lifted to a high level in NEAFL and get the feeling he will rise again to senior level, X deserves a couple of runs to see if he can translate NEAFL to senior standard as we need to find another tall forward for the run home, Harry can go straight to HBF just not sure who takes the other vacant position. Thought Newman should have come in once McVeigh was also out.
May not be a big margin, 1-39 might be value.Comment
