I can actually see X Richards coming in for his brother Ted this week (as much as I love Teddy) but Carlton don't have an overly tall fwd line so Grundy, Rampe and Alir should suffice for height. I reckon Heeney is a lock for McGlynn and Cunningham to come in for Jones unless they give Foote his debut.

We are at the point (again) approaching end of the regular season where injuries to key players are adding up. It cruelled us last year too unfortunately. Let's hope for the best and a relatively injury free run from here to (hopefully) very deep into September / early October!
    Swannies for life!

From the Swans website on Feb 18: Senior Swans continue recovery - sydneyswans.com.au

Reid injured his hamstring in the opening quarter of last week?s intra-club match at Marrickville.
General Manager of Football Tom Harley says Reid has suffered a minor grade one strain.
?Given the time of the year we will take a conservative approach with Sam,? Harley said.
?He?s unlikely to play in the NAB Challenge, but we remain hopeful he will be ready for the start of the season.?

Good to see that Sam's recovery is coming along nicely. The media department needs to get on the ball. They left out the number '2017' before the word 'season'.

Solution to all potential salary cap problems: Have the following sentence in Sam Reid's contract.

You will receive an annual salary of $XXX,XXX, less medical expenses.

Reid did return from last year's hamstring injury but then tweaked it again in the pre-season intraclub match. He returned again and played very well in a reserves match in early June, only to injure his calf in the last quarter.

I still remember how he thumped the fence in anger and despair when he tore his hamstring in last year's semi-final against Fremantle (and he was one of our best players at the time). So if we are frustrated by his long absence I imagine he feels a lot worse.

It certainly frees up bud when ready and Tippett resting forward take over the arc at the SCG

That is a serious challenge for the opposition talls

          Good luck

That's the key one for me.

Blues almost pulled off an upset today, granted against a side that don't travel well. Not that I'm predicting anything like that next week...but certainly no room for complacency. Especially with percentages so important.

I know Sam is frustrated and wants to play asap.

I'm a big fan of Sam and been waiting and waiting and waiting, week after week after week. He seemed so close.

I was hoping for the Swans to beat Hawthorn on Thursday. I was hoping for Sam to return to the senior side and give our finals chances a big boost. I was hoping to see Abe Davis make his debut and show what a star he's going to be. I was hoping to see that idiot Recep Tayyip Erdo?an get his ass kicked out off Turkey (sorry, but I've got some close friends that live there).

It's been a long sad weekend.

I still think Ted has enough to offer to at least see out this season. The Geelong game was a one of and, with hindsight, Horse should have known, against a such a smart coach, it wouldn't work again.
With Reg playing at such a high level along with the improvement of Rampe and Laidler (and March and Talia when fit) we can afford to allow Ted to play the way he most damaging, as a loose defender sweeping across the D50. Also, I think his field kicking is underestimated by most. Sure we can all remember the shocking shank in the 2012 GF but generally, he is a quality kick who can hit his target.

A "high ankle sprain": 4-6 weeks.

Not a break at least, although a severe sprain can be as painful and sometimes as serious.

SYDNEY academy product Jordan Foote could be the surprise replacement for Zak Jones after a string of excellent performances playing for the Swans? reserves in the NEAFL.

The 20-year-old picked up an impressive 31 disposals playing in defence during Saturday?s win over the Gold Coast.

He is now in line for a spot in the team to play Carlton at the SCG on Saturday.
Except he didn't play in defence.

I noticed Jake Lloyd played his least influential game since making the step up. He had low disposals figures and low efficiency. His time on the field was down by 20 minutes from his average. Injured? or just a bad game and pulled?

I'd give Xavier a run instead of Teddy. Kicked 8 in ressies, love to see him get a go running out of FF. Love Teddy but feel the time is almost up for him. Either put him back down in defense or omit him.
Cunningham, Foote or Newman for Jones? Would love to see Newman get a run.
What do you do with Benny McGlynn? That toughness was no where to be seen last week and just didn't do enough. A James Rose or even give Brandon Jack a go?
Issac Heeney surely makes a return too.
Will be interesting to see how we respond regardless after last week! Looking forward to it.

Midfield, ran with O'Meara at times in the first half but then had free rein after the main break.
