    Changes for Rnd.18 V Carlton

    Couldn't wait so here goes.

Benny out permanently; never to be played again.

No tank, no legs speed, no skills.

    Rose in.

And since its Carlton, whose young players are tiring quickly, lets blood another young player.

Would like to see Abe Davis in, Towers out.

Towers only plays well after he has being drop to the seconds.

As much as I like Benny I agree he has to go. Showed nothing last night.
The difference between Tower's good games and bad games are too extreme. He's had many many chances but just not consistent. Freezes under pressure

Out: Jones (injured), McGlynn, and Towers
    In: Cunningham, Davis, Heeney

Richards will need to move down back

Yep I agree Ugg. We know Jones needs to be replaced, but surely McGlynn's spot is on the line, and arguably one or two other should be under the pump as well.

What to do with Ted will be the interesting one for mine.

He was ineffective last night as the defensive forward.

He doesn't put on enough pressure, and on multiple occasions led his opponent to marking contests when he should of been going the other way.

He needs to either go back to defence, or out of the side.

I thought Allir Allir was excellent last night and should definitely hold his spot.

Yep I think the Ted experiment, as well as it worked against Geelong, failed pretty miserably last night. The lack of pressure he can apply was really noticeable, and good teams are going to punish us through that. I don't know who would come in, but we are going to have to make a tough call sooner rather than later.

Only obvious change is Zak Jones out (I'd say he is done for the season, it looked nasty) and Laidler in - I'd argue Harry Marsh would be a better fit into the back 6 mix at the current time, but he will need a week or two in ressies (interesting to see if he plays this weekend) to get going after a few weeks off.

Real shame about Jones, his drive off halfback while sometimes wayward has been inspiring and game lifting at times

Bugger - his couple of weeks is turning into much longer, like so many of our injuries in recent seasons.

Agree about Ted. Contributed nothing last night so he should play in defence or if not there, in the reserves.

Out : Benny, Towers, Jones (injured)

In: Heaney, Ladler, Cunningham (if he plays well in the NEAFL)

If Jones is in fact out and for the season the obvious replacement for me would be Newman...But I've been saying it all year and obviously the selectors have a different view even though he's been dominating NEAFL games off half back with great disposal efficiency...

I agree with you - i could understand if Heeney was not playing NEAFL this week but surely he could have done the defensively things better than Ted and also posed more of an attacking threat - so for me Ted probably goes back for Jones and Heeney comes back in with Rose for Benny M

Isn't Newman still rookie listed???? But I agree he would be the one I would like to see come in for Jones. Jones has been playing HB and occasional midfield time. So should be like for like.
