I don't think a stop gap would cut it for 4 weeks, unless Toby will be available sooner than that.
I wonder if Steve Taubert still has his gear?

AA to the ruck it is, Laidler back in to defence. Makes sense, and Freos forward stocks aren't terribly intimidating.

Material!? I thought it was reality.

John Longmire played in the ruck towards the end of his career with North Melbourne - could be a candidate?

Great to see the lighthearted comments. However, the loss of height in the forward zone does provide a problem to be addressed.

Are we sure Nankervis is unavailable?

The club has not mentioned Nankervis as injured (but we know there have been plenty of examples of holding back injury information) nor is he listed in the AFL's injury list by club updated just yesterday. But I think some Reserves watchers believed he looked injured in last match?

Yeah I thought as much. The AFL website listed Nankervis as a certainty to replace Sinclair but I'd imagine our ressie watchers would be more aware of our situation than AFL.com

The AFL's weekly injury list by club is very detailed so I assume they get the info. from each club. But the updated list dated yesterday didn't include Sinclair despite the fact he had a knee operation yesterday morning - so club must have known Mon. he would be out. So just one example of not always revealing all. So who knows re Nankervis? All will become clear Thursday I expect!

                        Excellent point, Barry.

We need to get Michael Talia back in the side. We've never lost when he's played.

                          Then Foote must play too.

And while we're at it: this year, I don't think that we've lost a game that Ray Chamberlain has umpired. Therefore, we should crave for all of our games to be umpired by the little Ray of sunshine.

If mc veigh had played every game with the same win ratio wed be battling it out with stkilda for 8th spot.

Which is, ironically, where most pick us to be. The rise to top 4 is build off enthusiastic youth re-energising the team, not the old guard who point a lot and get beaten one on one.

Those calling for mc hacks recall are calling for a predictable 5th to 8th finish
