I'd say it's Cunningham at the moment. ( or McVeigh for some on here )

I checked out the disposal efficiency of the defenders and they are all pretty similar (in the 76% to 78% range) so McVeigh is really
not causing us to lose by poor disposals. I wonder how he is doing it then.
Maybe he has special mental powers, and he is getting into the heads of our other players causing them to play poorly at crucial times.
He doesn't have a lot of hair, so it's not like that is getting in the way of the negative thoughts he might be sending out.
He could be a plant, like a footy Manchurian Candidate, his strings being pulled by an evil empire led by Eddie McGuire.

I prefer McVeigh in the forward line. He gets worked off the ball far too easily in defence and has cost us some crucial moments but seems to be a classy kick for goal and good decision maker.

Longmire on Callum Sinclair: The good news with Callum is that we expect to see him again this year so his season is not over

Longmire: We expect Jeremy Laidler to be available for selection this week.

Longmire: Jarrad McVeigh was able to run on Tuesday and we will make a decision on him after training today as to whether he makes the trip.

Longmire: Aliir has done some ruck work for us on the reserves so we feel as though we have a few options.

I see it the same way. McVeigh has good goal sense though he wouldn't provide much forward defensive pressure.

Longmire: Tommy Derickx has played senior football before.

Ludwig: Horse certainly knows his history.

Adam Curley: Reckon McVeigh is up against it this week, 50/50 at best. Running laps before training but not exactly flying.

Ludwig: There was a 12 second video along with the comment. McVeigh was running much faster than he usually does during the game. Perhaps Curley's expectations were too high after he saw Gary Rohan at training:

Sinclair out (injured) - Nankervis in

McVeigh in (if available) - who goes out? Foote, Cunningham or Hannebery???

Does Hannebery need to be 'managed'? Recently his form has dropped off and he has looked tired.

Those calling for mc hacks recall are calling for a predictable 5th to 8th finish

Do you just copy and paste the same thing over and over again?

Other than Mills and Papley our kids haven't been great Hewett Allir have been ok but they are hardly match winners

I dunno Aliir has been pretty sensational the last 2 weeks and Hewett has any uncanny ability of drawing a head high free kick in the fwd 50 when the game is in the balance

I also agree with this. His goals in the WC game earlier in the season come to mind.

It depends on your definition of "great". You can't expect youngsters to come in and regularly be in the best handful of players in the team. I am super impressed with the development programmes at the club that have prepared not just Mills and Heeney, but also AA, Marsh, Papley, Robinson, Hewett, Nankervis and Naismith to come into the team when it was their turn and not look out of place. We've had to rely on so many of them at the same time that I remain surprised and super impressed by just how well the team has performed so far this year. Richards and Foote have only had the one chance each yet, but they slotted in fine as well. I thought Richards was just about our best player for the first half last week, before fading after half-time.

A shame - we will miss his explosive pace and kick.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
