    Quick tip...

For every ANZ final since 2010 I've bought tickets in 'Category 3 - Non-Alcohol'. It's the smallish bay (123) in the 'red zone pocket', upper level behind the walkways. That whole level all around the ground at either end is Category 2, yet this bay is sold at Category 3 as they must have a token Dry Zone in the price range.

Seats start at Row 32 and I was straight on at 1000 and got 2nd row, but currently it is only back to Row 40 which is 9 rows back from the walkway and for the price a pretty good spot.

That said, there is a LOT more $35 tickets available this year, previously only been a couple of bays around the cheer squads and up in the nosebleeds. If you get a row from about 25-30 I reckon you are far enough back to get a reasonable view of the other side of the ground.
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09

The GWS cheer squad will sit in Aisle 142. So you're basically next to them.
It's next to but at least not in the same Aisle and hopefully I'll be sitting with other Swans supporters.

I had the option of selecting Swans Members Allocation and it put me in Section 140 as well

You really don't want to near the Giants cheer squad. The guy leading it is pretty annoying. He will not shut up even when they are miles in front.

I've been checking to see which areas are currently on sale. They're not selling where I want yet so I will keep waiting. Ticketmaster is so much better where you choose your actual seat.

That being said I've looked choosing both as a swans supporter and a GWS supporter. Looks like they are alternating bays much like they do at the grand final so that there are vertical stripes up the crowd in different colours

Ah that's my trick Triple B - I beat you too it though this morning, we are in Row 32 of the section, so front row!

Its not a bad spot for the money being category 3 - in the better parts of the lower level of the ground in my opinion.

I gave up fighting with the woman in the Ticketek office and called the club to have a good whinge.
She's insisting that sections 105-110 were sold out. I find that INCREDIBLY hard to believe.
I got redback seats in Section 405. Not ideal, but they'll do.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

105 to 110 are the primo bays, they might be gone depending on how many seats you wanted together.

405 is fine. You did better than me.

Annie, I suspect this is not the fault of the woman at the Ticketek desk. As someone said earlier in this thread, what Ticketek seem to do is to fill up certain bays before releasing others.

I think the computing system Ticketek staff use show the not-yet-released bays as not available (which therefore appear to them to be 'sold out') just as these bays don't get offered when we try to book online. (I've had exactly this experience buying cricket tickets.)

In the past, Ticketek released the bays you wanted first (as I've found to my chagrin at being placed right on the fence which I didn't want). This year (for top price tickets) they seemed to have started up the top in Level 4. I was online at 10am expecting to be offered ground level but was automatically given Bay 409. This suited me fine as I wanted to be at that level.

I suspect later today the bays you wanted will open up. It is a dreadful system.

Well done. If the AFL and ANZ change their mind and we find ourselves back at ANZ in the future, you can hold me responsible for letting the cat out of the bag...lol

I needed 9 tickets, so you only need a few people on before you and you get shunted back a row to get 9 together. If I just needed 2 or 3 I may have had front row. I used to sit in the front row for normal ANZ games in years past, really like the seats.

Grateful to know how you were able to specify the bay you wanted. Is it by specifying alcohol free?

                              And:

I prefer to think that I try to understand the rules and guidelines rather than merely defending them just for the sake of defence. Then again I am silly enough to clap brilliant play by the opposition at times as well. So maybe I'm a bit odd. [emoji848]

And to misquote, "God save the Queen, because nothing will save Ticketek"!

Yes Meg, it's the only alcohol free bay in Category 3, so by default you know it's the only bay you will get when you input it.
