I also wish him the best whatever he does, but I still have a feeling that he was badly informed and guided by his manager in his quest to seek another Melbourne club. One would think that his manager would have sounded out his prospects before requesting a trade. His latest comments about missing out and not being fazed sound like damage control. At the end of the days he and his manager took a gamble which failed miserably.Comment

With X something's not adding up. After he requested the trade and no club showed any interest it was reported that his manager was saying he'd try and stay at the Swans. Now he's been delisted (for whatever reason) he's saying he always wanted to leave Sydney. So X is contradicting his manager.Comment

I don't wish him anything. I don't know him.
I often wonder how football players see their fans at times, criticising them for their employment choices. Surely they see things differently than the fans who feel some kind of investment in their lives because they play for a team they support.
Reminds me of the Ted Danson questioning Kristen Bell to try and find out of she was a good person and he asks "if she has used social media to state how emotionally invested she is in a Bachelor relationship"
In the end XR was on our list for a while, found it hard to get a game, ended up getting a game in a different position that he wanted to play, and did ok.
Hardly a dominant run at the Swans.
It wouldn't bother me if re redrafted him, but also doesn't bother me if he moves on.
Don't really care about his reasons to change employers. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

This is a pretty shocking. Tom Derickx is described as a delisted free agent miss!

The draft is happening in Sydney on 25 November. Does anyone know where and how you can get tickets? All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

I think you're being sarcastic but actually I don't think he was a miss. We never expected more of him. That's why we re-signed him despite having plenty of rucks on the list. He was a depth player that stepped up and was serviceable when our frontline rucks got injured and we needed him and while our developing young rucks weren't ready. Apparently he was good company for the boys around the club the rest of the time. And we definitely gained by the association with his interviewing skills.Comment

I agree that his apparent 'lack of disappointment' is indeed damage control following some bad judgements from his manager and about his own value as an AFL player. He will have to live with those decisions now......hopefully without regret. Good luck with that X.........

Surely their zone will take a haircut from this draft and rightly so. And then you look at our zone and for all the time and money we have spent (much more than GWS I suspect) all we'll probably get is a rookie or two.Comment
