If the Doggies can get over the Hawks Friday night I'll be going for them v GWS because I like the Doggies and also the Stevie J factor (grub)

Part of me wants GWS to win the whole shebang to send Eddie et al into meltdown but it would be impossible to not want to see the Hawks lose. And I do think that they have the Hawks measure. If Mummy and Stevie J are out though it will have a massive impact on GWS.

In hindsight letting Mummy go was our one decision we lived to regret. I know there were cap pressures but there would have been other options available to fund Mummy's salary (e.g. Reid ) and we made the wrong call. It happens

Same here except I'd have Dogs #1, I really respect the supporters of clubs that have limited success and their loyalty and enjoyment endures.

Agree if it's not us - then either the Bulldogs or Geelong. Both those clubs have shown us support during the off field & personal tough times that our club has endured. (Ie the Mcveighs loss & Goodsies abuse) it's just a shame that Bob Murphy can't play - now there's one thoroughly decent human being right there.

Giants: built as a sniping team from the start, some detestable players; favoured by the AFL's considerable (self-interested) largesse; sense of entitlement that comes with rafters chocked with first-rounders; some rude bloody fans; no respect.

Hawthorn: share plenty of the above traits and have been favoured by MCG as a home ground, but have largely earned their success and have built an impressively resilient culture; Hodge and Mitchell weigh them more heavily down than they otherwise might be; I like Burgoyne. Part of the will to see them lose is to see the indestructible destroyed. I also think we are a better match-up against them in the grand final.

I hate them both as much as each other. The plastic club for being the plastic club, and the Hawks for the unbearable % of the fan base that are just absolute knobheads.

I hope neither win, and if I had to choose between them - I'd probably go for the Hawks just (ewwwww can't believe I just typed that). I agree that at least they have built for their success - not in large parts had it handed to them on a platter as GWS have.

Yes, Dogs for me too. Bob Murphy is probably my favourite non-Swans player. They've had to overcome some major injury problems this year. And they were really classy with their support of Goodesy last year.

No, he got precisely what the rules at the time and the season's umpiring interpretations video said he should get, which was 1 week. Fact he hadn't been suspended in the previous 3 years was what meant it got downgraded.

We are still well in this. We just played badly in one half of footy carrying 3 injured players.
I was disappointed too but remember we start the next game at the SCG. We should have 22 fit players and we won 17 of 22 games through the season for a reason. We have to trust these guys to come back.

If a couple of games at end of home and away had gone differently and swans had say finished 4th and hawks 1st and then lost QF against Hawks at MCG would people still believe swans were in it? Swans have won GF from losing QF but as far as I know not won GF from simpy finishing minor premiers. I say we can beat Adelaide and if we play like we did against Freo in Perth last year with hunger and desire we can beat Geelong ar MCG. Before the finals started all the experts agreed they did not know what the effect of the bye would have on the two teams that won the QF they do seem to have back tracked some but the opinion before the weekend was this could be the year a team outside the 4 could win so why not a team in the 4 that lost the first week? Two outside top 4 are gone leaving dogs and Adelaide so can dogs beat hawks - maybe but can swans beat Adealaide - yes we can. Incidentally i hate the fact it could be hawks against GWS but do not think if it is dogs against GWS that dogs could beat GWS and I hate GWS but equally hate Hawks - such an unappetising dilemma, we get through to GF and could be playing Hawks or GWS - YUK

Very even top 6 or 7 this year. With Gws we probably got the worst draw in the sense that we forfeited both home ground and home state advantage.

I am less concerned with the fact we lost than the manner of the losing. The Swans didn't bring the high intensity game required for finals footy, and were outtackled and outrun all over the ground. To go out of the finals in straight sets two years in a row would be horrid, especially without the injury issues from last year to attribute the failure to.

Oh, I don't know. Tippett, Mills & JPK were fairly significant injuries on Saturday.
Coupled with us playing a bunch of players who have made senior debuts in the last 1-2 years.

I don't want them to go out in straight sets. I want them to go all the way.

But if, prior to round one, you had been told that we'd finish round 23 going into the finals finishing minor premier, with a fairly healthy list to pick from, but that our best team going into the finals would be comprised of nearly a third of our side (7 players) having played less than 25 senior games each and & 8th player in only his second season, i suspect that you'd take that every day of the week (after you'd picked yourself up off the floor from laughing).

Most "experts" had us in the bottom half of the 8 (or not making it) but our blend of exciting youth & veteran talent have probably exceeded many preseason expectations. Most had us re-building on the run this year ... if this is rebuilding I'm excited to see the final structure!

In a very even 2016 season, keep pushing on Swans! We're still in contention & on your day, you can challenge anyone!
