Special screening of the Australian Dream at the Ritz Cinema, Randwick, with Goodsey and Stan Grant present for follow up conversation on stage Wednesday evening 21 August: https://www.ritzcinema.com.au/Promot...-Special-Event. I've got my tickets. I'm thinking this will be a sell out but hasn't been widely promoted yet I don't think. So get in fast if you're interested.

All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001) -
Everyone on RWO can get a bit intransigent at time, a bit un-amenable to reason, but it's only football, a game, it's not important in the grand scheme of things.
But this issue isn't just about football, it's about peoples lives - and the booing apologists, either won't or aren't capable of understanding the difference.Comment

Goodes announced his retirement AFTER the game against North, so no lap of honour etc. And he didn’t take part in anything at the 2015 Grand Final.
Does anyone remember if he did anything at the SCG the following year?Comment

I didn't know that but no regrets because will be great to see Goodsey there in person and speaking with Stan Grant. Have seen him out and about in public a couple of times but never game to applaud him for being such a champion away from the footy. Will be glad for an occasion to do so.All opinions are not equal. So Bolt and Panahi are pandering to their audience in exactly the same way that Ali, Wilkinson and their crones are doing? Correct? The ABC are also doing this except that as they are funded by the taxpayers, they are supposed to be non-partisan.Comment

Settle petal. You have a right to your opinion. We have the right to think what we want about it. Probably not the thread to be posting in as you won't find many friends here. Your views on the Swans and footy in general are pretty spot on so I'll keep appreciating your posts on those topics, just not this one.Comment

As far as the ABC goes, it is an essential part of Australian culture, that is slowly being worn down by years and years of attacks and funding cuts by obsessive right wingers. Which I find grimly ironic. That is, just how much time, the self-appointed guardians of "our culture" spend attacking our cultural institutions and those who make culture. Scientists, academics, the CSIRO, the BOM, the ABC, actual journalists, actors, musicians, and even sports people with an opinion, none are spared the tedious whining of the talkback and tabloid culture warriors.Comment
