I too was worried about both of them. And before we beat up on the team for the end result, it's worth keeping in mind that we were well in the game at half time - but then had to play the second half with one less rotation and two key players who had been seriously hurt. Made a huge difference against a fast-running, athletic opposition.Comment

Not too many changes. We played a very good side who trouble us. We're still a decent team.

We need another tall defender. Aliir isn't playing as the 2nd tall and it's too much to ask of Rampe IMO. If Ted can get back to his best today, bring him back in. With the Crows boasting Walker and Jenkins, we'll need him.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

Aliir was marking their tallest player on the field yesterday! Surely that qualifies him as a tall defender. If you brought Ted in against the Crows who would you match him up on? Walker really troubled him in Round 4 and I can't see him playing on Lynch
What the GWS forwards did well was to make sure they didn't run to same spots as Cameron leaving him one out with Rampe for most of the dayComment

Nankervis and Laidler withdrawn from the NEAFL GF side. Looks like Tippett is in doubt for next weekComment

No but if he wasn't in doubt I don't think they would take Nankervis out of today's game. How much doubt we don't knowComment

Apart from being out tackled completely ( 50% more tackles ) another damning statistic was the number of bounces 16-2 in favour of the interlopers. I assume this is as a result of a lack of tackling pressure that lets the opposition run more freely.
Jones and Towers can bring both of those facets to our game and should come in for Mills and Mcglynn and probably in hindsight should have been in the team yesterday.Comment

I think, given Tippett's history of concussions, his head knock & sling tackle on Saturday, Sam Naismith's ok, but not stellar performance in the ruck & around ground (he's young, it's not a criticism), the fact that the every senior final from now on is an elimination, and that the Ressies are playing a dominant GWS, even if Tippett was fully fit, it would be prudent to rest Nank, as an injury to our next best ruckman could prove too costly.Comment

I'd bring Laidler and Jones in for Mills and Marsh, Towers or Cunners for McGlynn who plays well against witches hats, but not actual footballers. Hopefully Adelaide don't send someone out to hobble our most important player. I thought that was gone from hte game and Johnson should be retiredYou can't argue with a sick mind - Joe WalshComment

The question in my mind is what do we do with Rohan? We desperately need his run and carry and his closing speed to chase down and pressure, but he didn't show any@of that yesterday and has a reputation for going missing in big finals. He was played like Jetta at his worst - never got above a medium jog. So we can't drop him, but we can't carry him either. One of the coaches needs to have a good talk with him and get him performing again.Comment
