I'm thinking they should play both Ns and give Tippo another week to fix his jaw. If Dangerfield starts to cut loose, rather than sending Tom Mitchell to him, they just instruct the ruckmen to 'Give him the Steve Johnson treatment' and whichever ruckman gets rubbed out at the tribunal misses the Grand Final

My concern with Tippett is his ability to make a contest. You need a key forward to at least bring the ball to ground. Marking is great but creating spilled ball opprotunites for our small forwards is important. With a sore jaw you'd have to wonder if his attack on the ball will be 100%. At least with Nanna you know he'll compete.Comment

A Fresh Way to Think About Footy ? Geelong v Sydney (Guest Post) ? Figuring Footy
Very interesting analysis of the game, with heat maps.
Basically, team's are far more inaccurate against us because we force shots from the pockets - reflected in Geelong conceding 45 less shots on goal than us this year. Whereas Geelong (particularly Hawkins) score the majority of their goals from 20-30 metres out in the corridor. Playing at the MCG will favour us in this respect, given how deep the MCG's pockets are.Comment

Tippett is in Melbourne anyway (photo)...and maybe Naismith in the background? Rohan in the cap perhaps?

We've effectively got 4 emergencies. Nank for Tip. Rose (or maybe Cunningham) for Rohan. And either Jones or Harry for Macca. I reckon they'll prefer Jones if he is good to go but take Harry if both Macca and Zak aren't right to go.All opinions are not equal. That's not the way we do, or should, play; and it wouldn't be fair to the players who would be asked to miss the GF and besmirch their reputations by cheating. If they do it off their own back, a la Stevie J, well then that's their look out - but it definitely can't be team orders.Comment

If it were premeditated then I'm sure Stevie is smart enough to choose for himself. Given his long history of suspensions I would suggest that it is his firey temperament, and not team orders, that leads him to offend. Indeed I'm sure Chris Scott wished he would be more disciplined at times, if Leon Cameron hasn't.All opinions are not equal.
