2012 we had Paul Kelly perform. It was really good

Ed Sheran & Tom Jones in '14 were good too - but I felt happier watching Paul in '12

I've been planning to drive down tomorrow alone, leaving midday from Eastern suburbs except all my family are telling me I'm nuts and should stump up for flights. You can still get Tiger Sydney - Melbourne return for about $350. Anyone else think driving is nuts? I drove down to Melbourne solo last about 15 years ago and I seem to remember that was fine. I expect to return Monday. If anyone needs a ride feel free to PM me.

Sydney-Melbourne via the Hume is a very easy drive (particularly if you have time on your side.) I guess work out the approx. petrol / hassle factor worth vs the airfare cost.

Man, did anyone have the misfortune of watching the opening ten minutes of the Footy Show? I just watched Doug Hawkins rant and kiss the cup tearfully for 5 minutes and basically declare the dogs winning. Almost vomited. So disgusting.

I'll have a lot of fun youtubing/editing that @@@@e if we win. Please for the love of God win swans. Embarrass the crap out of em.

I'm with Matt, it's a pretty easy drive to do- Sydney to Albury is about the equivalent of a round trip to Jenolan Caves, which folks generally seem fine to consider to do as a day trip. Melbourne's a pretty easy drive from there.

A long one to do on your own, maybe stack up on a bunch of podcasts for the journey- they tend to keep me more mentally alert on a longer drive than anything else.

People, you know that there are these things called aeroplanes. They were invented to carry footy supporters
to away games. They are sort of like cars, just bigger and way quicker, and you can fall asleep if you want.
Try and sit up the front if you can, like a car it's a bit squeezy up the back. You might have to rub shoulders with someone
wearing red, white & blue, or some other weird colour combinations that are not red and white. Otherwise
try and sit in what they call an exit row. That way you can make sure all the people wearing red and white get
off the plane before the people in the other colour combos in the event of a mix up between the plane and
                  the ground or ocean.

If they were invented to carry footy fans, you would be allowed to wind down the windows to hang your scarf out (subject to following any local superstitious conventions). Whenever I try to crack open the window on Virgin, I get into all sorts of trouble. Is it the same on Jetstar ?

Sorry Matt , we could have taken you in the back of the HiLux .. Needed a bit more notice . We left at 6.20am.
                      You'll be OK.
There's not much traffic , but very strong winds . Playing Mick Jagger, reading all the papers , going to the G tonight for live AFL 360 ...
Going to the game , the Grand Final Dinner.
Is it all worth it , yep of course it is .
                      Go Swans .

Bit rude of Virgin. I mean, aren't their colours red and white!?

It's not an issue on Jetstar apparently. The planes don't have windows. Or seats. I think it's like standing room at the MCG.

Yes, same as Qantas. They are all jumping on our bandwagon now that all the 231 Bulldogs bandwagons are full.

Haven't you heard BB, the grand final will be a new concept this year - only 1 team is playing in it, and that's the doggies
