    There's three parts to this.

One, I'm sorry - but the non frees to Jack and Hanners for below the knee, the holds on Rampe and one on Parker when he had his man cold in the forward line, on and on it goes. I'm not a big umpire whinger but that was beyond absurd. I have no idea whether or not we had a real shot at winning.

Two - kudos to Kennedy, Jack, Grundy, Heeney, Rampe, Naismith, Mitchell and Jones. Most of the others were ok without being fantastic.

But three - Rohan choked again on the big stage, McGlynn went missing and has had his day simply because he's not part of another flag shot, Tippett was a slug and agree, McVeigh should earn his spot on merit next year, not because he has a c next to his name.

I've long felt we were building this year for a serious shot next year so in some ways, I return to where I started - my real fury is at the umps.

One radical idea going forward - if we want to free up cap space to keep Mitchell, let's send Tippett on his way.
'Delicious' is a fun word to say

Rohan quiet. Hes a bit soft.

      Richards. Reid should have played.
Honestly Barry you just said Mills was under prepared he's atleast played 20? games this year. Reid hasn't even played a game in the last two months you think he could have done any better.

Rohans not soft he's got no game awareness.

I wont say too much about the umpiring as i dont need to - it didnt change the result but i wonder with a closer to 50/50 free kick what the score might have been like at 3/4 time. A grand total of 4 free kicks to 3/4 time in such an intense and even game like that , while not entirely suprising given our opposition, does make you wonder.

Such a disappointing end to such a fantastic season for our bloods - we will be back but its frustrating to be found out on the day that matters.
It was definitely a factor in the Swans loss today. Had the umpiring been more even the result might have been reversed. You have to remember that free kicks not only award just that, but swing the momentum. At critical times, this can essentially be the difference between a win and a loss.

I'll tell you this much, if the match finished with 20 free kicks for Sydney and 8 free kicks to the Bulldogs, we would be a much happier bunch right about now...

OK I'm stattered but they've won their premiership since 1954! Remember 2005!
I loved it & also the Bob Murphy touch.
I would'n worry about one loss we have built a dynasty!!!

Completely agree with Tippett if he leaves we have $1m well 700k because we'll have to pay 300k in cap room. Not sold on Mitchell the next few years will be Dogs and Giants running and spreading from stoppages we need to get good runners in via trade or draft.

Maybe an even performance from the umps would have helped although we may not have won, its not so much the frees against but we don't get any for even when jack was flattened after mark in 1st qrt a 50 metre surely and hanners was tunnelled in last qrt, Some of the ch7 commentators /'s ome decisions. and by god was the commentary bad or nor. Biased calling.

Tippett should sit down and watch replays of Boyd's game over and over. What Boyd did is what you want from a big money recruit in a grand final.

6 GF appearances in 20 years. Sounds good...... only won 2 of them though. Not much of a dynasty sorry to say.

                        .
Sorry. Dont expect total rationality at this stage. Reid would have been a gamble and probably would have failed, but richards has had a consistantly poor finals series.

I see us making a number of changes next year that should improve the team from the one we played today. For example:

In: Aliir, Talia, Reid, Newman and Rose or Davis.
Out: Richards, McGlynn, McVeigh, Mitchell and Laidler.

We also might have AJ coming back and O'Riordan and Dawson look very promising.

I think if we handle our trading right we could end up with 3 picks in the top 25 both this year and next, so we should be able to add some fresh talent to club.

Although the loss today was disappointing, I still feel positive about our future and our ability to stay competitive for some time to come.

Forgot to mention before (mentioned our record when we won the MP), yet another time we have won the Minor Premiership since becoming the Sydney Swans and have not won the trophy at the end.

Just hope the injuries sustained will be okay for the start of 2017. Especially Hanners one.
