Okay, maybe I didn't write what I meant. I felt we have struggled with significant injuries at the wrong end of the season recently.
I was going to make a comment about the number of forced changes we had through the finals (6) but the Dogs had more than I realised (2).

I was there as many of you were and the umps were as bad as I've ever seen. Not only the free's but calls in general. If we had a 12-4 free count at 3/4 time we'd have been up by 30 and game over. Granted Dogs played well but we definitely got shafted by the maggots. Onto 2017, Go Swans.

I just calculated an unpaired t-test analysis on the significance of finals free kicks paid to the Bulldogs vs frees paid to their opposition, there was a statistical significance P=0.0057.

From a statistical analysis, this is a strong statistical trend. A P<0.05 is considered statistically significant.

In contrast, Sydney's 2016 finals free kicks for vs the opposition's free kick for, when compared with an unpaired t-test was P=0.1285 ... not statistically significant.

***A limitation of this analysis is the small sample size (just 4 games for both teams), however, this is typically more important for non-significant results ie not detecting a significant difference, where one might actually exist. For the Bulldogs games I would have confidence in the significant finding.

We are on the wrong end of umpiring all the time. Why is it so and what are the swans doing about it.
To not kick up a fuss or not change how we play is crazy.

Well, the t-test analysis would suggest that during the 2016 finals, we essentially had a similar (or at least not a significantly different) number of free kicks when compared with our opposition.

Jeez that's very significant! Would be good to see a graphical representation

Just heard Robert Walls on the radio. He said he watched McVeigh all game and said he didn't go hard at the contest all game. Said we lost it at the selection table by naming him and Mills. Said Mills was clearly short of a run.

On frees to the Bulldogs. For whatever reason they have been at of near the top for free for, for many years. Even as a bottom club. I have never been able work it out. What about Toby McLean dropping his knees and head. Apparently has the most frees for head high tackles. Yes Hewett does it and it is to the detriment of his game. Tries to draw the contest and doesn't look to do the team thing and move the ball on. Looks to deliberately turn into the play and often towards the boundary. Hope they knock.it out of his game otherwise he spends the rest if his time with us in the 2's. Hope they now change the rule to play on.

Shepherding the man on the mark. Where has that come from and why is it allowed. To me it putting a player out of the contest where any other time in a game it is a free off the ball or even a report. I hate it, a blight on our game. Ban it.

Hawthorn used to do it and then against the bulldogs the umps pulled them up on it. Then the bulldogs started doing it.
