I've heard that he is going to go to Uni of Sydney to Study, and consequently is planning to play for their NEAFL team. No idea if its correct or not, but the guy who told me is usually relatively reliable on things like this. Would be a truly bizarre end to the story if correct.

Gee if this is the case what a hell of a @@@@@@ up by him and his manager! So much for the argument of wanting to be with his family and the cost of living in Sydney. Very odd indeed.

        Makes perfect sense:
        1. He can be near his family (brother lives in Sydney).
        2. Instead of paying exorbitant Sydney rents, he can crash at Ted's for free. Can raid the fridge too.
        3. Has a good well-paid job at home: babysitter.
        4. He can get a big loan that he will probably never have to pay back.
        5. He doesn't have to go down dark alleys to buy drugs. He can get them right on campus.
        6. He can play with same mates he's been playing with for the last few years, all at their new club.

          1. He he'd haves lived near Ted as a Swan as much as a UNSW student anyway

He could still live with Ted as a Swan

He'd have more time to babysit as a Swan than as a student plus he'd have been available most afternoons when the seniors were playing

It is truly bizarre if he is staying in Sydney after all. That suggests his original statement for leaving due to cost of living in Sydney was total BS.

?It?s exciting for the club, and it?s a good sign for our NEAFL program that he was willing to sign with us,? Sydney University coach Tom Morrison said.

Offered a two year deal on modest money with the best AFL side, thinks he's better than he is and poops his own nest. Now playing for much less in the NEAFL.

                      What did XR do?

As I said on my post back on 22 December it makes his statements back in the trade period seem total fabrications. Clearly he wanted to leave then because his manager had convinced him he could earn big bucks elsewhere and it had nothing in fact to do with the cost of living in Sydney.

Now we can look forward to running into X earning the big bucks working for $15 an hour in some restaurant in Newtown while he funds his way through Sydney Univ.

Let's all just ignore the facts and put it in the COLA files
Quite nice of him to take that route I thought....

Maybe he hopes to 'burn it up' in the NEAFL next year and then get drafted back to a Melbourne club for season 2018 and beyond.

To be fair he was travelling reasonably well in the NEAFL when they switched him to the forward line last year. Well enough to play in a grand final for us

Uni might have a fairly decent NEAFL team this year with X plus the former Academy lads all going there.
