Cannot see how he can be a top up player for us? No longer a swan. So If I am right, he was offered approx. $200,000 per year by the Swans (according to rumours), but said COL in Sydney too high. Now he still lives in Sydney playing NEAFL getting maybe 30-40 k per year? It makes no sense what so ever.Comment

Wonder if he still has his manager. Probably not worth much currency to his manager now. Good chances X is a dormant client on his books.Comment

Actually he would be eligible to be a top up for us as Sydney Uni are meant to be supply top ups if needed. We've played Tom Young (ex Collingwood and WB, as well as NEAFL B&F if you don't mind) and Michael Manteit (ex Collingwood) in recent years under this rule
Would really only happen when Uni have the byeComment

If I was in X's situation I wouldn't think about staying Sydney, makes this saga all the more confusing

What if:
- The Club advised X that he was not part of their future direction;
- They hoped that he'd get a chance at another club;
- X accepted this;
- His Manager went to work with spin;
- No other Club was interested;
- X was happy to remain in Sydney & go to Uni there.
In other words - X is not the dope, & his Manager not the pr*ck, some are portraying.Comment

Right Here | Herald Sun
?To be honest, it?s been a little extraordinary the way it played out,?? Sydney?s head of football Tom Harley told the Herald Sun.
?But the facts are as reported. We offered him a two-year extension towards the back end of the year and there was some back and forth and the final offer was in Round 21.
?We moved into the finals and there wasn?t any indication he wouldn?t accept, and then during exit interviews we were informed by his manager he was seeking a trade.
?We thought it was disappointing because we had an offer there.?Comment
