Our own fault that first quarter cost us. 2 inside 50s!!
Am really pissed off.
At least Hanners is back and Parker improved.
I love Hayward.
Not sure about Foote.
Jack is nearly gone.
West coast next week OMG!

It's time to play without a ruckman. They are absolutely useless dinosaurs of the game. The first club that starts playing an extra midfielder at the stoppages will have a big advantage over the field. I know Horse doesn't like it, he can't get enough ruckmen, but Naismith and Sinclair did nothing but give up the ball.Comment

The umpires won't make things any easier over there either. Not that WC will need it, they'll give us a smashing on form alone.Comment

Sooooo so deflated right now. That first quarter was insipid and cost us dearly. We are really missing our injured players as our bottom 6 are hurting us badly. Foote, Sinclair were not good. Florent shows heaps of promise but he was carried along with Dawson.Comment

I agree. Despite what the stats show I was extremely impressed with the three of them. In 18 months time they'll be automatic selections. You compare Fox to Towers and its chalk and cheese. I wonder if we can have Papley, Haywood and Florent in the one team however?Comment

Doesn't matter who was out there, criticism of what was dished up in the 1st quarter is fully deserved. That is ultimately where we lost the game tonight. Rest of the game was tight, but we never quite got back on keel after such a poor start."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

God we need some troops back - our bottom end is a weakness (that isn't to say all of them are not good enough - most are but not yet ready).
Must give a shout of kudos to Newman - in general I thought he did really well tonight, and stats reflect that."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Calm yourselves, this is the youngest Swans team for over a decade. Last year we may have over achieved with a young side and its got even younger and less experienced this year. Maybe this year we will slip a bit, it looked likely to happen as soon as we brought a heavy injury list into the season on top of a list lacking depth, but plenty of promise.
Look at the positives - we have drafted two players in Florent & Hayward who look to be top shelf to add to an already impressive roster of young players, these are 250+ gamers of high quality, they truly look like special players. Newman looks like he will be best 22, has footy smarts and is cool headed. That's three players straight into our best 22.
So if we can get the injured back on the park, Florent, Hayward and Newman will be in the side in place of muggles like Cunningham, Towers etc. This is exciting despite the losses. So temper your frustration and enjoy the new players.Comment
