BIG NEAFL game against Southport tomorrow, will be watching with interest.

Outstanding players could get a call up although other than Cameron for Sinclair, no more inexperienced types. Edwards has a big game he replaces Foote who clearly is way out of his depth at senior level.

First quarter was dismal, memories of the 60's 70's and 80's. We never deserved to win. Liked Hayward and Florent and I thought Newman was ok. Foote is the next generation Cunningham/Towers and Sinkers is a waste of space and time.

I was disappointed we didn't pick Cameron tonight - I know Sinclair is probably the better ruck of the two at the moment, but Cameron appears to have very decent hands, and clearly does know where the sticks are when resting forward.
Mcs , sorry if i appeared to attack u. Not my intention, just a very frustrated supporter. Sinclaire was a mistake, the sooner we get him off out books the better.

Newman did really well I thought on balance - he has slotted in very well considering he had a pretty ordinary pre-season. It looks like he is good enough to take the step from dominating in the ressies to being a good AFL player.

No need to apologise Southern Swan - I didn't take it as an attack at all. I think I can sadly say almost all Swans fans (bar those ones on facebook land that live in 'you can't ever do anything but love the Swannies despite what happens ont he feel) are feeling frustrated tonight. I agree about Sinclair - he is a list clogger. But we are stuck with him, given how hard it is to find decent ruckman with some experience to fill that gap on the list. I certainly know who I would of preferred between him and Nankervis, but sadly that wasn't to be.

I can't help but think that, of all the players missing, not having Rampe was the real killer this morning... (evening for most of you!)

Our backline this year is frankly a schmozzle. It is leaking badly at the moment. Lots of reasons for that however.
                    - Rampe missing is not helping.
                    - AA is still finding form (he was ok again tonight - did some great stuff but let down by some poor use of the ball)
                    - Grundy is just playing ok (compared to his great form last year)
                    - Nick Smith is struggling so far
                    - Mills is having a case of '2nd year blues'.

Its just not gelling so far. I am particularly worried by the amount of times we are getting caught playing far too far behind the man, and giving away easy marks on the lead. It is one thing at the end of the game for that to happen when everyone is tired, but another altogether when its happening all game long.

Horse in the presser had a good point about not having control over compartment syndrome, glandular fever and a chain fence. I mean every team gets injuries but we have started with some strange ones.
Agree with an early post that mentioned how big the loss of rampe has been.
For me the other missing piece has been Papley. He brings an energy and awareness to the forward line that the swans have missed dearly.
Also what does everyone else think of Parkers form? Tonight he got more of the ball but did nothing with it. And he hasn't been a forward presence at all this year compared to previous seasons. Actually none of mids have helped on the scoreboard.

Parker still looks unfit to me, and troubled by whatever is up with his knee.

I certainly would like Papley back in there - he will make a difference if he can replicate his first season performances. I'm quite excited in time by the thought of him and a Florent/Hayward style working in tandem in the forward line together in time. Would not be dissimilar to the Buchanan/Schneider partnership of days gone by, and will complement our big men well in time.

Coaches get blamed but surely they knew what was happening out there at the time.
Yes, agree about the first quarter. The coaches obviously keep the faith that Plan A will kick in at some point but yes, they could be more proactive, especially when it's so one sided.
