We officially can give up on finals and start thinking about next priorities. Like playing kids. Maybe trialling new game plans?

We could start with 'having' a game plan.

Three positives at least: 1) Gary is banged up not not deblitated! That is what really matters. 2) Heeney and Melican looked pretty good. 3) AFL Evolution comes out next week and we can live out the season via video fantasy. Unless, they delay the game to accurately change the player ratings...if that's the case, we are boned on PS4 and XBOX too!!!

Contrary to popular opinion I like Sinclair on the ruck. He has only played around 50 games and it is often said big men take longer to reach their potential. He seems to read the game well and get to the right position has a nice kick. Just fix his hands and he will be good. I mean Buddy has more than likely dropped just as many marks

Not just playing youth for youth's sake but with an emphasis on those who we feel have the best chance of making it long term.

What in the heck happen to this "once" great team !!

Half the team needs to go IMO. The only talented player is Buddy.
Buck has to stop with the coach "Longmire" though - his coaching style is being shown up as abysmal with this team.

Appalling and devoid of spirit...Even in the coaches box now....This could easily be 1993 again with much less excuses available than in those truly dark days...

Ok. I think we need to play 2 but they need to be able to go forward and have an impact too and around the ground. At the moment we don't have any that can do that and traded one last year that is more than capable!

At the time I wasn't concerned as I thought we had the players to cover it, I guess I was wrong...

Just shows that we won't be successful if we go down the path of trading for stars. As great as it is to have Buddy we may have that one additional premiership if we still had Mumford, Mitchell etc.; players that had built their careers at the Swans. In addition to keeping all of those depth players we could have recruited for some skillful players. Winning premierships attracts attention more than getting the best player.

I can't see a rapid return up the ladder, the youngsters are willing but the skills are dreadful, just look at the skills of the top 4 or 5 times we are miles off and worst of all down seem to get even the slightest bit better from year to year.

The 'Spirit of the Bloods' is now a nostalgic memory........it's gone and I struggle to see how it will return. Some lean years ahead of us.......

Terrible game by the Swans and have to say it this now about the coaching staff , only they can lift the players get them prepared but at the moment they seem incapable. IMHO Allir has to play, why not try him forward?
The game-plan today fell apart and we persisted playing buddy up the ground even when Reid was in the ruck. Disgusted by how the Swans players didnt get around Mills at times up to 3 Carlton players getting into him absolutely disgracefull where is the BLOODS@! spiirit?? ok rant over but will leave with this Rose not up to it, Jack not up to it, Hayward great player but needs support around him.

                              Cheers

The loss is not all that bad. I said last week that it was better to recognise where we are at this early in the season so we can prepare for next year. Winning doesn't matter any more this year. We are playing for draft position.

I have no criticism about Sinclair's effort, but his hands are just awful. He's a 4th choice ruckman in a team that shouldn't be playing a ruckman.

I'm not surprised by BJ's performance, but am disappointed by Rose, who I thought was better than what he showed today.

I think we should start playing Talia and Aliir from next week on. Reg is too slow and now there's no reason for him to play seniors anymore. I would have liked to give Hayward a rest, but we may not have enough personnel to do it.

PS: Brisbane getting smashed by PA. They'll be out for Blood next week. 0-7 here we come.
