That's what happened late in the game - harder to work out what was going on with him the whole game prior to that.
When the team is going so badly, you're dreadfully slow off the mark at the best of times, and consistently go to ground as though you're wearing ice skates - you'd think you might make an extra effort to get within 10m of your opponent at some point.Comment

Wow.
What a pathetic effort by a majority of the players and in particularly the coaching staff.
Who is the genius that decided to have Buddy play up around the centre, when all he did was fumble and dropped marks all day, and when we got the ball forward there were no talls to take a mark. Except our coaching genius then moved Sinclair to full forward. So we leave the best forward (or maybe once the best forward) stranded in the middle of the ground.
We had a few people who tried hard all day, but there were far too many passengers and our disposal was woeful all day.We could not hit a player from 20 metres.
Our defence looked horribly slow and were always 10m behind the marking Carlton forwards.
Poor Mills was being pushed and shoved all day and not one player went in to support him and out of all the crap that was out there today, I think that was the worse sign I have seen from a Swans team in may many years. No team spirit, no team support. Bloody very disappointing.Comment

The last two GF's were our chance and sadly we didn't turn up for the first one and Buddy got injured in the first few minutes of the second one. If we had won 1 of them we could happily go through a serious rebuild.
I think the losses have seriously damaged the psyche of the team and its one of the reasons why they need to hear a new Senior Coaching voice. They need to feel something big has changed so they can start developing their confidence again.Comment

Swans look as slow and as unskilled as I've ever seen them. The game has changed and left some of our players and our game plan behind.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the players are scarred from the poor umpiring. Last year and especially in the GF they were constantly penalized for being first to the ball. Why be first to the ball if the umpires don't reward you?Comment

His public summation of last years GF was disappointing - to say we just had to "work harder" I think wrongly deflected some of our tactical and structural deficiencies. And also placed all the blame on the players who clearly had worked pretty hard to get there.
Longmire has the opportunity to change things for the better - hopefully he uses the opportunity that he now has in front of him.
It's just a shame we've thrown away a season in the process.Comment

I went to the game and am very disappointed with the result and normally don't post straight after the game, but stuff it. We have lost all structure and that was due to the team selection. What have they got against Allir. At least he is prepared to take the game on and is a tall we lacked today. . Surely there is someone else we can bring into the team to help in the ruck. Reid is OK in there, but we need him in the forward line. And on Reid why the hell did we play him in the backline in the last quarter when we needed to kick goals.Comment

I still can't believe how many players we have running around at the moment that can't hit a target within 15 meters! So many of them are 50/50 whether they can perform this basic yet crucial skill! Papley is hit and miss along with pretty much all the long term senior players. Our best are our first and second year players who we should hardly be relying upon to win games!
As I said earlier, these blokes are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to perform yet they can't even do the basics!
