The problem is a greatly talented side with the wrong attitude is about as effective as a greatly motivated side with zero talent.......and that is why we're on the bottom of the ladder and likely to stay there if we don't get our @@@@@ together very quickly........as I queried before, 'where's the influence of Kirky????', the man who epitomised the 'Bloods' ethos. Did Ross Lyon suck the inspiration out of him at the Dockers? I just don't get it.......

It's amazing how a few weeks ago we almost beat a few top teams and all we needed was a bit of experience to come back into the side. Now all we are missing that could make a real difference is Sir Rampesalot. Who will be well underdone.

Given our available players you'd have to bring Allir back. Throw a couple of worn out midders forward and back to give Mills and others a run on it.

No to Kirk for coach. Spiritual guru maybe but his style was suited to his era. Dour defensive and shutdown commitment. Rule changes need something entirely different.

If we are not a top 4 team or genuine GF chance for one year I would rather be bottom 4 and get a chance of a top 5 draft pick. Then you have Hannebery, Parker, Kennedy, Buddy, Florent, Hayward, Heeney, Mills plus two picks in the first 25 in 2017 draft plus hopefully Zac Jones and Allir and Rampe. Looks ok for future then.

My concerns with Rampe coming back will be how good his arm will be. His arm is like buddys foot. Rampe is a top shelf spoiler.

            We have to be brutally honest. This is the worst side since 1993. In '93 there were excuses, a rebuild was on. But this year there are no excuses except a few injuries. We have a pretty good list. Some of the things that went wrong today;

            1. We bothered to turn up dressed to play. A pity we didn't, play that is or perform to be more precise.

            2. We lost one battle at the selection table. No third tall defender. We were killed for height today. No ruck on the emergency list. Bloody stupid. Darcy Cameron had a pretty good night last night in Darwin. BJ was lamentable. He did a few good things but fumbled at crucial times and gave the ball up. Newman was ok but a couple of times he got caught trying to do too much. I don't mind that though as he as at least trying stuff.

            3. If you don't have a game plan or at least something that resembles one then you are up @@@@ creek. Sure we have a game plan but it just disintegrates when the opposition exploit it. For instance playing the keepies off zone and playing 10 metres off our opponents is stupid and an ex Hawthorn assistant will exploit it every time. Banging the ball long is a plan? News to me. Creating leading patterns that work is a plan. Bombing the ball in long to a contest or just to the opposition is not. If Carlton were even mildly capable we would have been annihilated today. There wasn't any movement that they were not aware of. It's just they were slow to exploit on several occasions. We have basically been doing the same things for a long time now.

            4. There seems to be some problem with our fitness level. Players coming in and out of games, falling off the pace toward the end of quarters, fast players not being able to run down players no where near as fast as them (good example Simpson, not the fastest man in the place accelerating away from 3 of our players).

            5. Coaches not having a clue how to combat their play. It is basic Hawks style. We still can't play against it. too many loose players due to the zone. I've got a suggestion that might work John 'GO MAN ON MAN FOR ****S SAKE'.

            6. Out of form players. What do you do with them? But I will say the stoppage set ups are not doing our mids any favours. But their fitness level, or lack of fitness is not helping.

            7. The back line was a mess again today. Too much panicking, poor ball use and decision making. We lacked the extra tall down there and it was so very obvious. More obvious than dog's balls. The ball was not coming in that quick but our players were having to pick up midfielders because the mids were slack. But even then the coordination is still missing. No general. Aliir would have been very handy today and what's more he played well last night.

            8. The players who are in the team for pace are fine going forward but have a tendency to drop off when they have to defend. I don't know who was on Simpson but he was on his own so many times I thought he must have bad breathe. Jones tried hard but seemed to always be battling 3 or 4 opponents.

            9. Lloydy was very good. He had 20 to half time. But then Bolton decided to make him accountable and put a player on him who could do some damage. Lloydy then spent a lot of time defending. But horse just left him at half back and didn't move him out to the wing. The mind boggles. Jones was good too. Lots of good tackles, good run. But he had far too few friends. Hewee tried his guts out but he was getting killed by the stoppage set ups. All the mids were.

            10. Dear John seeing you don't have a clue why not try something new. Play three tall backs because guess what? This season everyone is is playing 3 tall targets. You might also like to try playing a real ruckman who can kick a goal like Cameron. Get some youth back into the team and rest the experienced players who are off the boil. We are not making finals now so we might as well try a few things. Gee you could do worse than giving Toby Pink a game if he wasn't a rookie.

All in all I think we're gone. See you next year folks because we won't be making finals this year.

Not sure what the problem is but something is wrong! Looked disinterested today. Kruezer takes two marks in goal square, uncontested of course. Casboult run into space 25 m from goal for 2 marks. Every team protects that space, but not us. When we get the ball we will run through packs even if we are small. No side stepping for us! Handballs should go to opposition players most of the time. If a Carlton player is loose, do not man up on him, let them run loose. I not sure if Longmire has lose the respect of the players, but something is bad. PS. Is there anyone easier to side step than. Zak jones??

Surely such a flagrant breach of convention was worth mentioning? Or are they just giving the umpires the benefit of the doubt and assuming that none of them noticed a player lying motionless on the ground and a reasonably large vehicle driving on the MCG? Grrrrr!
The umpires did the right thing. They aren't supposed to stop play until the next break in play. The only time they can stop it prior is if the play goes into the vicinity of the injured player. The guy driving the stretcher did the wrong thing by driving onto the ground too early.

You can include a few others that seemed "to be in treacle" including the skipper !! - not his greatest game against a young bull

Maybe it's a difference in press conference style but after the defeat by the Saints Clarko said:

"Whether that's injection of younger players, change of game style, whatever it is, we need to try to find different ways to go about it. We just can't continue to accept mediocre performances like we got today."

How can Longmire say there is not much in the neafl? Aliir Aliir and Cameron should be certains and O'Riordan a 50:50 chance.

I think what he said there was quite reasonable and true. It is unacceptable..... I just hope Horse turns the mirror on himself and his coaches, not just the players.......
