I don't like to claim too much credit, but this was the first match I could get to this year. Sorry about that everyone, but I'm back now and have sorted things out, so should be all good from here.

I loved Jones' game, but his agro does worry me. He gave away a 50 last week and had a decision to the Swans reversed and was right in the thick of it again today. It's only a matter of time before he gets fined, suspended or gives away a crucial free that changes the result of the game. Longmire seems ok with it, but I would like to see him calm down a little because he's making Barry Hall look pretty serene at the moment.

I too thought Tower was good today. I wasn't too impressed by Melican, but maybe I'm bitter because he gave away a goal early where he really had no idea where his man was and let him take an easy mark close to goal. (I do admit he was better after that).

Franklin could have had 10 if Cunningham could give a decent kick inside 50. It's so frustrating to watch him brilliantly sprint 50 meters, have Franklin on the best lead in the world only to watch him kick it out of his reach.

Very happy with the win, and hopeful it's the kick-start that our season needs, but we will need to play better to win against even middle of the table teams.

Amazing what a win does for 'harmony' on the forum......... Seriously though, a great win today if only for morale and sure, not back to our best but a step in the right direction. Once all the niggles are gone, injured players return to match fitness and the team gels better, I forsee a strong back end of the season for us. Whether it's enough to make the eight is another question......

Yep paps in the midfield a bit more today and Florent having to do more forward pressure role today rather then play making from the wings

Good to to watch the evolution of roles

I have a feeling that we will need to keep getting game time into Melican because I'm not sure if Reg will be able to keep up with the speed of the game come 2018

He will borderline methinks as those legs are not getting faster but the mid to tall forwards are getting faster and faster

          AA
          Rampe
          Melican
          Maibaum
          Marsh

          Lloyd
          Jones
          Mills
          Newman
          Laidler

          Exciting backline rotation and depth

And the crowd was so happy - you'd think we had won the premiership we were so excited! I was actually impressed at the size of the crowd given our form this year. We love our Swans!
The most encouraging aspect of the day was the spirit with which they played. For each other, a bit of bite. Hopefully this kick starts them.

I thought Jones, Parker and Heeney led that from midfield. Papley helped set the tone early. Hannebery chased hard and racked up most game time of the season. Melican and Marsh were poised and stood up well - both are promising. Glad Buddy had a day out. McVeigh's return was important; 100% kicking and freed up other runners.

Melican was good but hopefully he will eliminate the fumbles.
Even though Naismith didn't have a lot of stats his presence had a positive effect. Seemed to get in the right places a fair bit.
Jones and Heeney are stars. I doubted Jones's tank but he put that to rest with a polished performance. Heeney just gets better each game. Ready for a blinder.
Parker found some genuine form, but Kennedy seemed to fumble quite a bit. Mind you, I reckon Kennedy was held at almost every contest.
Papley was good and improved his error rate. Waiting to see a 4 quarter effort. I reckon he is a midfield chance. He is fast and could combine with Jones through the guts.
Marsh was one of our best and Towers didn't seem to make an error and worked hard.
Not sold on Hewett. Again he was scrappy with ball in hand. Didn't give us much again.
Hope in the match review that they tell Ollie Florent he doesn't have to handball to the captain if he is not in a position to receive, even if has called for it.
Hanners, what do we do with Hanners. Had some impressive stats but boy did he turn it over by foot many times. Granted he found some form and the footy but surely he needs a lot of practice at hitting a player on the chest. His turnovers are incredibly frustrating to me, so how must the coach feel.
              Sam Reid had a sabbatical.
I agree with almost all of that.

In particular re Hewett. He does get a bit of it in close, but doesn't have much impact on the game. Reid's form has fallen away a lot after a great start to the year - I suspect when his mind was most free of doubt.

Hanners might have been a bit sloppy at times, but stoked with his pressure; 8 tackles.

Be interesting to see what charges come out of the numerous skirmishes. Crowd seemed to enjoy a few of them!
                +1 re: Marsh
Also good to see the players defend one another. After Mills struck his opponent late to a marking contest, Jones I think it was did a very thorough job of standing up for him and a massive brawl ensued. Rather that than what happened last week.

However, don't think S.S. Bleeder's comment is in the same league and there is no occasion to threaten him. Voicing dissent is not the same as offending. Not everyone agreed about Matt80's banning either. That's life. You were in the hot seat to take the tough decision and you did. Well done. Let's leave it there.

Very unfortunate this division has been caused, especially when we should be celebrating our first win in ages.

I only saw most of the second half. Jones and Cunningham in particular had the luxury running large lengths of the paddock, merrily bouncing, with the luxury of time to decide how to deliver the ball forward. Haven't seen much of that at all this year. Probably won't get that indulgence much anymore.

He was obviously hoping to nip a potentially ugly debate in the bud, so to speak. As I said in an earlier post, I'm all for 'free speech'.......to a 'reasonable' extent.
Just what I would expect from you Stevo. Where did I defend him? If you can bother to read my post I said he was wrong to make the Daw reference.

My complaint was what was said against him by the other posters which was in breach of the rules of RWO yet nothing was done. The double standards have been an issue on RWO ever since I can remember. I was even warned a few weeks ago for a tongue in cheek comment that a poster didn't know much about football because they said something positive about players that we love to hate all while other posters were saying much much worse.

Why dont we start up a social experiment and have a "No Hold's Barred" thread where we can get involved in some good old fashioned bare knuckled fighting. Any comments politically incorrect or sensitive can get dumped straight into the thread and the protaganists can slug it out there. RWO'ers who are sensitive to that type of discussion can simply avoid the thread. Personally I think it was disgraceful that Matt80 was banned from this forum simply because he was a passionate Swans supporter with a different view.

Quite. And Cunningham still managed to butcher it!

Still a win's a win! Delighted to see much better games from Sinclair, Towers and Marsh and some real mongrel from the young fellas. Good on 'em. Seems like all our AA midfield stars have struggled at some point this year; Josh K looks like he's playing by memory at the moment. I'm sure he'll come good.

First of all, this is not a moderator decision. You should know that I do not get involved in a lot of the discussion that occurs on here; for now I own RWO and do my thing behind the scenes so that you guys have a space to talk about whatever you choose. BUT, there is a red line, and I am responsible for ensuring it is not crossed. It was crossed. What has subsequently occurred is one RWO member has decided to oppose this decision and I have called out that poster. I'm sorry to ruin your party, but these matters need to be called out. Accept the decision for what it is and respect my right to maintain fair community standards on this forum.
