Swans are in a very good mental space, a zen like zone that will make them very hard to beat.

Since the current final eight system was introduced in 2000, these winners of elimination finals proceeded to a preliminary final:

      2001 - Hawthorn
      2007 - Collingwood
2014 - North Melbourne, Port Adelaide
      2015 - North Melbourne
      2016 - Western Bulldogs

Just two in the first 14 seasons (2000 to 2013), then four in the past three years.

The Crows are already holidaying on the Gold Coast, so they are gone ...

Thanks for that. If we actually win from sixth, it will be interesting to see if there's much of an uproar about the bye week.

My fault for scheduling a holiday in September I suppose but pretty poor form from Foxtel.
Watchafl.com.au. It's a great website, can pay for a whole season or just a game or 2.

I know you can watch in real time from that site but can you download, or is there some other way of watching later? I read some complaints which suggested you can't.

I expect there will be complaints, even if the form is obvious.

I expect the AFL will consider moving the elimination finals into this vacant week. It has happened before. When the final four was in place (1931 to 1971), each week had one final, played in the following order: First Semi Final, Second Semi Final, Preliminary Final, Grand Final.

                Week 1: Elimination Finals
                Week 2: Qualifying Finals
                Week 3: Semi Finals
                Week 4: Preliminary Finals
                Week 5: Grand Final

Think I'll go to Spotless on Sat night.
Last year it was hilarious sitting with the Doggies nutters, barking their ridiculously basic chants.
The Eagles are way overs at $3.00, their adrenalin could get them up for sure .
It's not far from home, last AFL game in Sydney .

Just picked up a family pass for $120 5 rows back from the 50m line. It's great having two teams in Sydney, especially in finals.

I heard around 17k sold. Doubt it will sell out.

History tends to suggest that West Coast played their "grand final" last Saturday night, but luck is certainly running with them
(Melbourne losing in R23, Port unable to kick straight in the EF) and GWS have lost another two first 22 guys (Cameron &
Mumford) and are not in good form (never a good thing at this time of the season), so you never know.

I definitely give them a chance. They will play spotless well as it's very similar dimensions to Subiaco. GWS has injuries. Have won there previously when gws were in a lot better form than this so will carry confidence over with them. Plus ATM GWS back half is a squabbling rabble.

Imagine, if you will, WC beating the Giants, then the Tigers - we beat Geelong then the Crows. The conniption through the media throng wound be huge!!! This season has been so unpredictable and all over the shop that a Swans V WC grand final is still a possibility !! (I wonder if I should put a little wager on that?) ????????
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

AGE IS ONLY IMPORTANT FOR TWO THINGS - WINE & CHEESE!

It's exactly what's been making me chuckle all morning this scenario.

So is Geelong's forward line. Laughable that Tom Hawkins gave his fellow forwards a spray; of all people to give team mates a spray. One lazy footballer.
