Reckon you're being kind to Tippett. He dropped a lot of marks which if taken could have had a bearing on the outcome and again did not have an impact on the game. Longmire said he was poor in the press conference. I've been willing the guy on, but am losing faith. His tap work was good last night, but he's contributing very little around the ground and there's no sign it'll turn. Sinclair is putting in, but runs out of gas in the second half. Neither have the tank to ruck alone at the moment. Probably only Cameron does.

I agree with all of that.
I said recently that I can see a faint light of hope with Sinclair. He seems to have a desire and passion, and that is flowing through to his game.
FFS, someone teach him how to mark. Tippo too for that matter. In fact the whole team, bar a few.

I see the same story as I have for a while.
Rarely does a Swan take possession without an opponent ready to tackle, no players can find space unless the ball is in the back line and the defenders are spread across the opposition goal line.
No leads in the forward line, which doesn't matter as much s the delivery into the forward line sucks anyway.

This I agree with a lot. Our ruck division is poor apart from a glimmer of hope with Cameron. Tippet potentially is a first class forward/ruck but doesn't have the body for any type of continuanty that allows him to build a first class game, Sinclair drops the most basic marks that most country footy players would take and has no tank to last a game, Naismith has a lot of potential but seems injury prone which will hamper his development if it continues. Cameron has potential but will take time. It's a part of our game that is falling apart to regularly.

Anyone else notice how much Tippett falls over at crucial times!!!, myself like a lot of people on here really wanted Tippet to do well, but I don't think it is going to happen, also I think Reid has had so many chances, I would let him go

Like I said earlier who do you replace him with? Plus what do you do to replace him long term? A draftee that takes 4-5 years to reach some potential n all the while expecting Franklin to hold down the forward line by himself? Or buy a forward that would not be any better than Reid for the same price? On Tippet i agree, very very frustrating. Not durable which doesn't allow him to get any type of momentum throughout a season.

oh dear, we are in trouble now. As a team the Swans were poor. However, just when it looked like we would snatch victory from the jaws of defeat we turned around and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. We had 4 gettable shots at goal in Q4 and missed them all. Heeney, Jones, Papley and Mills all missed gettable goals.
It looked like team tactics were back to rounds 1-6. So often when whorethorn got the ball they had free players to kick/pass to yet every time a swan got the ball he was immediately under pressure.
I don't think the players were lacking in effort; they were just a bit off. They were off the whole game so we can't really blame the injuries to Lloyd and Reid - although this didn't help. 2 6 day turnarounds didn't help either but we got ahead in Q4 but gave up the lead with basic skill errors.
How did we play so well against St Kilda and so badly against Whorethorn? Is it in their heads?

My lasting impression was a shot of Buddy after the game. The look on his face said 'WTF just happened - how did we lose that?"

I guess, being a Swans supporter, you just get used to the opposition getting 3-4 goals a match through soft free kicks. It needs to be said before the whole team is
castigated that 4goals against us through soft free kicks cost us the game.

I was listening to ABC at the game all commentators agreed that the umpiring was not that flash and swans were stiffed a number of times - even saying "geez that would have been a free last week - clearly it's not this week" so god knows what's going on. I'm also thinking that being captain is weighing JPK down, is the responsibility effecting his game ? I think it is. It still riles me that we insist on silly hand passes to players always under pressure which always results in a turn over. We are not maning up - and we look unfit - I don't know what the problem is but it better get sorted soon. And as for Hawthorn and their supporters - I'm starting to think that Collingwood are quite likeable in comparison. (I know it's just so wrong !!!????????)

The young Swannies wilted under the usual Hawks blowtorch - blowing marks , shots for goal, fumbling , erratic handballs and out tackled.
Horse needs a holiday , send him to the Maldives to freshen up and let Buddy take over the coaching for a month .
He knows a fair bit about playing the game .
The coaching box look at their IPADS way too much .

Longmire re-affirmed his coaching credentials last year. No credible commentator is pointing the finger at him for where the Swans are at right now.

Granted the Swans started poorly on Friday night, however their effort to hang in and actually find themselves in a winning position with two key players ruled out early was exceptional.

Mills' final effort was disappointing, however the mental and physical fatigue he would have been under, particularly as a young player, would have been extreme.

Towers' final effort wasn't great either, but he was another who worked his tail off all night. He may have given away a free earlier in the game, but in doing so he sealed his spot in the team for next week IMO.

Some of the stuff that's been posted here is laughable. I don't bother with the other forum but, from what I've been told, opposition supporters are laughing at how some Swans fans are reacting and turning on the club.

The rest has come at a perfect time for all bar a couple who are just back from injury. I'm looking forward to seeing the response against Hans Christian Anderson's boys in a fortnight...

I with you Vonsteinman. It is disappointing that "fans" can change their tune one week to the next. All was good with the world last week, one week later attitudes are reversed.

I'm on the side of two six week breaks with two weeks of travel then loosing our best swing man and link player has to be considered in the final quarter. I was amazed we came back but it was obvious some of the players were out of legs. Patrick Dangerfield said as much in his commentary.

Something slightly off topic but worth discussion: the last 5 home and away games vs Hawks we have played them off either a 6 day break with travel, or 2 x six day breaks with travel. One other time involving two lots of travel. It seems this is something the league has built into the fixture deliberately. Eddie complained when Colliwobbles had a 5 & 6 day break after Anzac day. They travelled to the MCG for all three games!

Their exists another SCG in a parallel universe we you can park 5 minutes from ground. Or train directly there ready tickets, easy food. And the team is finals bound.

Funny thing is, big mummy plays there. Spooky.

Unlike the SCG, where you can park about two minutes walk from the ground. And where the food, though ordinary, is a good deal better than at SA.

As for "finals bound" come back in another twenty or so years, when the Giants have achieved the kind of consistent finals appearances of their cross-town rivals. Maybe they might even have won a premiership or two. And elevated their membership thousands into double figures.
