You clearly don't know the meaning of the word "attack". You chose to have go at what I said to someone else and I responded with some facts. What you posted was an "attack". What I posted was a "response". If you want to have a crack at someone have a go at the various commentators and medicos who all agreed that the second incident, which ended Selwood's night, caused a different injury to the first. Or live in your own world of fantasy and denial. Either is fine by me.

So what was the reason for Rohan finishing the game on the bench? Someone said to me a hammy but Gaz didn't look too distraught when the game finished.

He was involved in a marking contest by the boundary line near our defensive 50 and came down like he a problem with one leg which he kept straight. He ran around a bit after that then came off.

Maybe it was cramp?

To be fair, Zach Guthrie looks like he could be out-bodied by my 16-year old son, whose athletic achievements stretch to being on the school philosophy team.* And take Dangerfield and Selwood (for half a game) out of any team and they are going to struggle. There was some good commentary after the game pointing out that our kids are slightly older and more experience; Newman is 24, Melican is slightly older too, Mills has a year or two on most of them.

Probably not enough made of us missing Kennedy though. He isn't up there with Dangerfield (no-one is) and it hasn't be his best year, but he is still easily top 10 in the league.

My frustration with Chris Scott (and Brad as well) is they always go a lookin' for excuses every time they get beat - I have no doubt there is some validity in what he was saying, but its the same old 'tough luck' story you hear every time.

I disagree, I believe Kennedy is up there with Dangerfield and was a huge out for swans and for me Buddy still the best and most important player in the comp. Papley & Hayward and others would not be as effective if it were not for Franklin's efforts and influence every week. Franklin draws 2 decent defenders every single minute of every single game allowing other swans players to shine, in my opinion far more influential than Dangerfield.

There has been talk this morning on 3 different radio stations that Papley staged last night when he was punched in the stomach and that he did the same thing last week with the Hodge hit. Apparently Hodge tweeted something after the incident last night.

Terry Wallace brought some common sense to the discussion when he said why are players punching others in the stomach. I totally agree...let's not excuse the actions of those players. If you are dumb enough to punch someone then you can't cry when you get caught.

He didn't have a great granny. And I assume you're exaggerating "didn't get a possession" to prove a point? 4 kicks 6 handballs 3 marks 17 hitouts & 2 tackles in a game he came in to underdone and wasn't our worst that day.

I think he exaggerated the contact on both occasions, but he didn't fake the fact that contact was made.

Great win by the boys last night.....very enjoyable to watch. When we're 'on', our play is a joy to witness. Speaking of 'joy', how good was the after match interview between Richo and Paps and Will? Great stuff! So good in fact they replayed it at the end of the telecast.....now there's two players who are loving their footy!

Re the Duncan/Papley incident - the impact point of Duncan's strike is behind Papley's body on the TV vision but slowing down the video it looks to me that Duncan has a closed right fist both before and after the strike. So I think it was a punch of more than minor force to Papley's solar (coeliac) plexus which winded him. Papley's reaction (on his haunches struggling for about 30 seconds) is consistent with that. So unless the MRP has vision that tells a different story Papley won't be cited for staging and Duncan will be fined.

He looked winded to me after the strike last night. Nick Smith was pretty firm in putting that view on the abc this afternoon.

Yes, I'm just watching the fourth quarter again and having just slowed down the replay, that was exactly the conclusion that I drew. So it's a bit irksome, that some in the media, are trying to claim that it was just a push and that Papley was staging. The evidence is that he was punched in the stomach, with a fair amount of force, and there's absolutely no evidence that he was staging, since there is no way of knowing from TV pictures, just how much pain he actually felt.
