I wouldn't move Millsy one millimetre from where he is playing now.
He has saved us sooooooooooooo many times this season by being such a cool head in the right place at the right time.
Not too foul for a baby.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

He saves us so many times because he's a fantastic young player. If he was playing in the midfield and someone suggested he be moved to defence, you would be saying the same thing. Just imagine Mills taking intercept marks in the midfield and sending the ball into our forward line. That's what I want to see.

Hmmm. As I alluded to in my previous post, we need players clunking marks up the ground so we can get out of our back 50, if (when) we resort to down the line. Mills' contested marking is terribly underrated, for mine, and could prove a handy weapon as an option down the line coming out of defence. Newman also has a knack of alluding tacklers in close vicinity of him, which enables a cleaner disposal (in theory). So Newman going back and Mills to the mids would definitely be the move I would make. But, who makes way? I'm sorry to say, Nick Smith adds nothing coming out of defence, and would be in danger if I was on the match committee. Yes, he's a great servant. Yes, he is a great shutdown back pocket. But we need to carry the least amount of down the line players that we can, in my opinion.

Will the MRP apply more common sense now that Bartel has registered his disgust by walking .

For instance, sending Heeney to Sloane. I agree though we do need to roll the dice better more often - especially when we have our forward line structure set up nicely and you've got Paps (who is a super reader of the ball in flight - so is a good judge of when to go for a mark, when to play for the scraps) down there to work off the big men.
Couldn't agree more Penga. It's was almost like we ran out of puff half through the 2nd qtr. We were applying so much pressure on the opposition and running in waves but it was like we flicked a switch and ruened it off. There was an instant late in the 4th qtr when Hannebery received a handball at half back. He had plenty of space to run it down the wing and kick it inside 50. But he only took a couple of steps and kicked it down the sideline to a 2-1 contest which we lost. I was screaming at the TV to run it.
I wonder if we have cranked up our training load to back right off during break and come in fresh for one last crack. Some sides do that at this time of the year.

Who would you drop from the midfield. We know who you would bring into the backline to replace him.

I thought that that move was a good one for Heeney's development. It is amazing that it is still only his third season. Big call, but I see him as our future Gary Ablett.

At the time I couldn't see anything in it. He was a shade late but it was just two bodies colliding and Crouch jumped up and played the free. It would have been bizarre if he'd been put out for a game for that.

Yep, you're probably right. As an 18 year old it's easy to misread that sort of thing.
Still, don't bother coming out if you're that introverted. In a social environment it's easy to be seen as rude when you refuse to reply in a conversation with anything but yes or no answers. (there was no discussion about AFL so that wasn't an issue)

There have been plenty of players over the journey who have been done for charging.

He had no eyes on the ball and careened into a vulnerable players back. He wasn't contesting the ball. Based on the feedback from the MRP it seems that all it would have taken was for the player to have sore ribs (and therefore sufficient force). I am not sure Jones had any power over that outcome - that is why I think he was lucky.

I think there is enormous scope for improvement in the umpiring department.
