That's the point of live trading isn't it? Isn't this what the AFL wanted? A bit of excitement with pick swapping. Will there be backlash? I'd say so, only because it was the Swans who did it first. If it was Hawthorn or the Pies, the commentators would be lauding their genius recruiters right now.

LoL Gil the Dil thwarted again (and did he say we matched Adelaide’s bid??). I’ll bet the recruiters watched the movie Draft Day some time recently. I can see another trade ban on the horizonComment

We would have confirmed this trading move with the afl before hand in the draft IT practice sessions etc"be tough, only when it gets tough"

We all know the AFL only like it if as you say its from certain clubs.... but we know how the AFL loves to punish us for ever even contemplating using a competitive advantage we may have spotted that others haven't.That's the point of live trading isn't it? Genius by KB. They’ll close that loophole next year you’d think.
No ruckman in this years draft other than Briggs. Hoping we’ll get a decent midfielder with pick 24 or whatever it now is?Comment

Pretty confident we won’t. There’s only one worthy of that pick and he’s tied to GWS. And it’s not really a great need, especially if we have that potential cat B rookie lined up. (His name escapes me at the moment. Must be all the excitement of the draft!)Comment

It's starting to become clear what happened now. We're lucky that West Coast didn't screw us over.Tell me if I'm wrong, but swapping out our 1st pick to WC before Blakey was bid on ensured that the brunt of matching the points for Blakey came from our subsequent ones. Then swapping with WC again ensured our 1st pick remained pretty strong. I think our recruiting staff are amazing!Comment
