I wonder if Dew will be interested in any "under performing" but experienced Swans players on top of his declared interest in Lloooyyyddddd and possibly McVeigh.

I'm sure we'd love to turn one or more of Jack, Rohan, Towers, Robbo, Rose, Foote, Marsh etc into improved draft picks if we could.

The holy grail would be to get a pick before Blakey, but might need a 3rd club to make that happen.

After watching the Doggies win the flag from 7th I think just making the finals in important. Mix a week off, injuries to opponents, with poor umpiring and anything possible if you make the eight but certainly impossible if you don't. For every team that tanks an rebuilds successfully there are 5 who don't.

Problem is our loss of form in the midfield. We’ve struggled all year. Where’s the improvement going to come from in the next 4 weeks?

I think a lot of it is just confidence. As confidence grows skills improve and it becomes self fulfilling. Last year is a good example of both negative and positive cycles. I think the question is can we regain our confidence in the next few weeks? For this to happen we get a few players back, avoid injuries and have a bit of luck.

Which players coming back are going to boost our midfield?

It may not necessarily be any of the players coming back in to the team directly that will boost the midfield, but the deckchair shuffle that could in theory help the broader team. What to me has been a trademark of our poor last month or so has been players literally popping up here there and everywhere - often playing significant portions of the game well outside of their best role. Hopefully the return of McVeigh (I'm not convinced either Jack nor Hanners are necessarily going to be significant improvements) and AJ potentially will give our back 6 a more settled look, helping to give some respite to the midfield and forward line. The more players we have playing closer to their natural roles the better. This includes key cogs of our midfield like Parker.

No surprise to see Lynch confirm he wants to go back to Victoria town - with an article on the AFL website thinking Richmond are the only game in town. I look forward to the announcement of their trade ban as a result

Seems the dominoes have begun to fall however.

What other dominos do you anticipate?

Hawks could recruit whoever they wanted after their premierships and there was no issue. And they recruited those players from low ranked teams St Kilda, Bulldogs and Melbourne. So I don't see any issue with Richmond doing it [emoji12] .

I don't know MW - haven't sat down to be honest and looked particularly closely. But he is the first big name player to confirm he will be moving in close season publicly. It will open up a lot of possibilities for GC (assuming they don't match the bid) in terms of what they might do in the trade period.

They are going to have the problem that no one is going to be keen to go there. Remember when they wanted a player for Jaeger OM. Which might play into our hands if they’ll take some of our lesser lights because of their relationship with Stuart Dew. As in he might be a motivator for a Swans player.

Dew is a smart bloke. Why would he want any of our lesser lights. Can't see that he would follow Carlton's experience.

I was more thinking they may seek to trade the compo pick for a player from somewhere else. It'll be a tough sell no doubt, but eventually if you throw enough $$$$ you'll likely lure something and reel it in.

On the basis he needs experienced players and might actually be able to persuade them to move to the Gold Coast.

It’s really looking like there will be a huge number of list changes at the end of the season. I’m predicting over 10. Potential Outs for various reasons (retire, delisted, ask to be traded)

                                McVeigh
                                Jack
                                Grundy
                                Foote
                                Rose
                                Hannebery
                                Tippett
                                Rohan
                                Towers
                                Robinson
                                Marsh
                                Lloyd

The jungle drums are beating strong about Hannebery. Lloyd is being offered a lot to go elsewhere and Rohan has had a very poor season. The team will look very different next season.
