Cheap tall to cover for the other Sam Reid. Makes selection easier. Confuse oppositions by playing both?Comment

Interesting that they would be diminishing his value to the point of suggesting that they'd be taking him off our hands while at the same time wanting him in their team. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

If we trade out Hanners and the Saints take on his full salary, then it would be weird that the vendor is selling a product that we no longer want but demanding a high price.
I call it the #Hannebery22Comment

With Lycett rejecting the Saints and Naismith signing for 3 years with us, I wonder if Darcy Cameron might be included in the Hannebery trade to help secure pick 4? Cameron has absolutely dominated the NEAFL this year but he is potentially still 3rd in line once Naismith is fit.Comment

Heard a rumour from a St.Kilda mate that 3 St.Kilda players have requested to be traded (possibly Billings, Acres & Stevens). Notwithstanding the potential this may bring to any Hannebery trade (someone did posted earlier a Hannebery trade rumour involving Acres), but if true will pose further pressure on Richardson's coaching tenure. The word is Ratten is poised to take over in 2020 but could do so during next season if St.Kilda get off to a bad start.
Putting myself in Hannebery shoes, this potential volatility could make him think twice if he is serious on St.Kilda's 4 year offer. Been hearing Saints fans say Hanners is too much of a risk at his price & he is only at best a short term solution far as bringing leadership experience. Consensus is they're better off investing that $$$$ enticing a young gun for the longer term.Last edited by KSAS; 3 September 2018, 02:34 AM.Comment

If Hanners is traded I would prefer a deal which gets us pick 4, but I wouldn't mind Billings or Acres being in the conversation. Billings has played well through the midfield, but hasn't been the goal kicker he showed as a junior, while Acres seems to be improving from year to year and could be ready for a real breakout. Even in a straight swap of players, I think we'd be doing okay, especially by picking up 5 years in age and some salary cap as well.Comment

I just don’t see a young Jarrod roughhead or Buddy Franklin in the video footage I have seen so far
Those two players as an example looked miles ahead when going for the draft
Compare them at the same age for draft and it is chalk and cheese and therefore it is a risk to take a very very skinny tall rangy forward as an early pick for so many clubs
Jack watts comes to mind
Andrew walker etc
Minimal risk is taking a barn storming midfielder in the top 10 picks like the trend has been......most bottom teams can’t afford to get there first round pick wrong
I do think Blakey is a lock 10-13 pick
but with current midfielder prototypes gearing towards the 190cm players
I think he is an outstanding prospectComment

It seems strange they would trade out younger talent , with potential upside , for older talent , which has shown significant decrease in output over the last 2 years ( albeit with injury issues playing their part). Makes no sense to me
