Not sure I agree with the cynicism around Lynch to Tigers, it has to work.
After all, we were unstoppable after Tippett arrived, and only involved us changing our game style to accommodate him.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

I have no issue with top names going to top clubs under free agency - its a natural progression. What frustrates me is that there is not even a peep about how they can manage it, yet we do it (on the back of an unexpected premiership, with a relatively immature overall list) and we end up with a trade ban.... the hypocrisy will never stop reeking.
But you only had to look at the front of the Herald Sun yesterday was it to see that, all in all, many still view the AFL as the VFL first and foremost - the interstate teams are just there almost out of inconvenience.
Well spoken MCS. Being a Swans fan living in Melbourne is quite unique. Melbourne now has 5,000,000 people living in it but has a distinct small town mentality when it comes to footy. GF at MCG till 2057 still angers me amongst a lot of other parochial issues.Comment

Thought the same when I heard Robbo made those comments last night. To be fair on Robbo, he has on several occasions raised & questioned our trade ban over the years. I just wished he did so directly to Gill when he's been a guest on AFL360. Wouldn't surprise me if he raises it again when Lynch to Richmond as FA becomes official.Comment

I remember Geelong were after Rohan when he last came out of contract. I assume he's contracted for next year at least? It's common for list managers to talk with each other to discuss who on their lists might interest them. Plenty of names get thrown up which normally doesn't make the media. See what happens.Comment

They said we cheated because of COLA. To this day they still think we used the entire COLA amount to pay for Tippett and Buddy which is a complete lie. Even Mike Fitzpatrick said on Open Mike that's how he thought we used COLA. He was the bloody Commissioner and he had no idea how COLA worked!!Comment

It always makes me wonder , what makes the gold coast such an unattractive option for not just players in AFL but in Rugby league as well.
The weathers great , the atmosphere is relaxed , good nightlife, good recreational options etc. If I was in my twenties it seems like it would be a pretty good place to be .Comment

in Sydney (or the Gold Coast or Brisbane), there are considerably more that actually prefer living in the "bubble" of Melbourne (and Southern
states) footy. Other "entertainment" industries are like this also. Footy players aren't the only performers racing to the nearest spotlight to
stand under.Comment
