However, I don't want to lose our first round pick in the draft (presuming we don't have to use it on Blakey). I read Geelong are after Jack Steven. If that trade occurs and involves at least Geelong's pick 12, perhaps we could somehow get it for Hanners (I imagine we'd have to give something else) and use it on Moore.
But don't Geelong have to have a Rd 1 pick and use it this year and next year, due to their previous trading shenanigans?

I assume that Rohan is still under contract next year? If so, it will be interesting to see what Geelong is prepared to give up for him?

They mentioned on one of the football review shows last night that Dylan Shiel is pretty ensconced in Sydney due to having a long-term girlfriend there. Giants have salary cap issues. This may create an opportunity for the Swans to grab Shiel which would be great for us. It’s certainly going to be an interesting trade period ahead.

Now can I add to this dream trade scenario ....

        OUT : Rohan, Hannebery, Reid

        IN : McGovern, Shiel, Gaff.

If Lloyd needs to go as well, for this to happen, then so be it.

We could do with another A grade midfielder. It would be great to get Shiel or Gaff, but I doubt it.

A big loss to our coaching ranks as Shaw was from all reports a great developer of young talent. No doubt he will pop up on big money at one of the Melbourne clubs. I hope that we are not about to see the end of the Swans golden era with good coaches leaving and key players in decline and/or leaving. Time will tell.

I think we will regret losing Lloyd.
He won't be as in your face as Mitchell is but, he will leave a hole. And we probably don't know how important he has been in filling that hole until he's gone.

According to a HS article few weeks back, Shaw was linked going to North Melbourne in an assistant role if I'm not mistaken.

The move looks like a sideways one, so he may genuinely be going home for family reasons. From what I've read over the last few years he would appear to have been a significant factor in the successful development of our younger players. And this year, his first as a line coach, he's coached the one part of the team that has been successful.

A huge loss, but hopefully not irreplaceable. I wonder who'll take his place?

While I don't want Lloyd to leave.....I love the above scenario!!

Looks like we're letting Rohan go.

Swans speedster open to move to Victoria - Swans speedster open to move to Victoria - AFL.com.au.

SYDNEY speedster Gary Rohan is set to consider a move back to Victoria next season, but not until after the Swan's NEAFL Grand Final on Sunday.

AFL.com.au understands the former Geelong Falcon from Cobden is open to a move to be closer to family and friends, with Geelong and North Melbourne flagging early interest.

It would've been the perfect opportunity for Macca to step in, but he's going around playing for another year (at least). Is it possible/legal to have a playing assistant coach? It could be a sneaky way to save on TPP!

I'm all for keeping Lloyd. I see him as a very important part of our team.
Sam Reid can go to and join his brother in the Collingwood medical room in exchange for Tom Phillips

I think the writing was on the wall for Gary when he didn't get back into the first's......as long as he's happy with whatever decision he makes but his future isn't at the Swans. It will actually be a relief for Swans fans from getting our hopes up and being constantly let down. I blame Lindsay Thomas.......
