I try to be a glass half full observer, but sometimes I wonder at our selection of injured or unprepared players.
Footy history ( and esp the Swans') is riddled with guys being unable to play at 100% and thus reducing the team's effectiveness.
Yet we seem to fall into it over and over again; the last game of 1917 being the most recent example...and we saw what happened there.
And now Macca and Grundy off to Perth, one with no match prac and one with part of a seconds game.
    Hope I'm proved wrong, but...

Horse did hint that this was a consideration for leaving Dannebery out, it would just be one "fresh" player too many, so maybe its a lesson half-learned.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

I'm glad Hannebery is not being risked. McVeigh was having a strong preseason and really impressed me as the playmaker in the practice game I watched in late January. Grundy: who knows? He's never missed much, so I'm not sure what he is like off a long lay-off.

If so they might deem it better for Hayward not to travel as an emergency but stay back and do some solid training and send someone like Foote who will be less impacted by the travel as he has had a full pre-season. They might send two for this match, maybe Marsh and Foote.
There's a lot of Gnosiophobia in the world today. Agreeing with Ludwig is a step in a new direction. There's a lot of pressure that comes with it. People you never heard of start calling you, wanting your advice. Good luck. I'm here to support you.

"Rohan will be staying in Sydney to support his wife, who is in the final stages of her pregnancy" according to the Swans App. That made it easier for the selectors.....

Congrats to Deano on his 50th game, too! I was surprised that he's actually played so few games. Given the amount he is discussed on this forum, I was expecting him to be around the 150-200 game mark.

These four on the bench are as expected. Might move Fox into my Supercoach team now.

I'm not sure how many people remember that the Rohans are having twins, but one has anencephaly, a fatal brain malformation, and will not survive childbirth or long thereafter. So all the best to the Rohans in this challenging time.

Dalgleish, Margetts and Foot umpiring. Seem to recollect we have not enjoyed the first two in the past. Do we know which emergencies are travelling?

If we have both Dalgleish and Margetts in Perth, we're in massive trouble before the game even starts.

What are the dimensions of the new ground compared to Subiaco Oval? I assume it's more like an MCG than Subi was?

Thanks also to Ludwg for that reminder of Rohan's situation. I completely agreed with Longmire's decision to leave him at home anyway even prior to learning that additional information, but that makes it all the more important that he is here with her.

Means we're giving Weagles a four goal start, could be worse though, could be the Hawks No.1 ticket holder Stevic! He always gives us a raw deal.

Dagliesh is only biased if we're playing Freo. Margetts is a worry and so is Foot.

With regards to the ground dimensions I read somewhere that it's like Etihad. Don't know how accurate that is.
