That was good to get the 4 points there. The dogs played pretty well and were wasteful. We could?ve easily gone down.

In regards to the umps, I?m finding the incessant whining boring and predictable. I think there were a few decisions where we didn?t get the run of the green but there were some that went our way too.

Finally, it was awesome to see Ollie kick that last goal. Credit to English for his chase but the finish was sublime.

It was a wonderful, skillful finish- and agree, great chase from English as well. Wonderful effort from two young guys to sprint it out late in a game so early in the season.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Definitely stole those points. The Swans had patches where they played good football but as soon as they got out to a couple of goal lead, they stopped doing what had got them back into the game. Macca, Parker and Heeney were excellent, a few were solid (Sinclair, Mills) but most of the rest had a mixed afternoon.

It was a good thing for Florent that he kicked that goal because it wasn't the right play. I guess he didn't know exactly how long there was left, but he really should have stopped and taken his time. That said, it's great to see the rush of blood into the minds of young players when the outcome is good.

I really have no idea why Aliir played if he was going to play that role. He has no experience and isn't going to make it at AFL level playing there. I can't believe it built up his confidence and/or match fitness. He'd have been better off running around marking the Lions' tall NEAFL forwards.

Yes, McVeigh was hitting targets all game.

Yes, an enjoyable finish to the game. Though I may have enjoyed Dunkley's drop, just that little bit more.

Agree we were lucky although we ground our way back into the game when we could have been blown away early. Thought Rampe and McVeigh were great down back under pressure. Parker was huge in tight but annoys me with turnovers trying to do too much. That slack kick in the last quarter when we had control of the ball was a shocker although nowhere as bad as Dunkley's clanger!

Allir was not as good in the air as I thought he might be. Probably replaced by Rowan when he is mentally ready. Allier looked a bit underdone but I guess they still rate his potential and wanted to encourage him.

I was okay with Florent taking that shot (although that view is likely tainted by him kicking it)- normally I'd expect him to run it in a little under that situation but so late in a game he looked like another 15 metres of sprinting would have turned his legs to jelly.

Completely agree with Aliir- happy for them to get games into him, but no really sure how much value being put in that role for him really would have been.

It was a shocker but give him some slack, he was almost certainly exhausted at that point after the game he had played.

                    Just watched the highlights.

Very brave of Hunter to deliver a punch to the face of Papley who was lying on his back at the bottom of a pack and totally defenceless.

Soooooo glad we beat that mob!

I thought Ollie actually ran too far with that last goal. Expected to hear a whistle.

True. Parker was one of our best. I also thought Towers was very good - contesting well, breaking tackles and distributing the ball.

Jones continued to butcher the ball, particularly early, but when he started breaking lines that is exactly what we needed.

I think Aliir was supposed to take on Sam Reid's roll as a tall, but although he did some good things it's not his go. As for Jones I agree with the mixed reception here, but he'll do better as the season goes on.
Great game from Heeney, and although I'd be reluctant to go into a GF with Macca, he was good today.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Had a brief look at the Bulldogs Big Footy site to see what their fans were saying. One poster said they thought that the ball was over the boundary line before it was kicked to Ollie.
Hope they're right! Would love them to feel "robbed!"

Watching the last 2 minutes on the AFL website again, I think Parker was going for Jones on the wing, just miskicked it perfectly for Daniel. Mind you the guys chasing Daniel, including Jones, didn't do a very good job of holding him up.

Thought that was a great hard-fought resilient win in very hostile enemy territory.

Heeney terrific again. I've enjoyed Florent's games this year, so it was nice to see him get a moment in the sun. Towers good again too.

Newman looked well down on last year, but improved as the game went on. Allir is way off. Hope he comes good again.

So we're on a high and Crows looking to bounce back from a shocker, it could be on next week!
