General footy chat #AFL Round 22 Weekly Discussion Thread

Games of note this round.....tonight could be interesting plus over the weekend, Magpies v Power, Us v GWS, Eagles v Dees and Crows v Norf.

With Kelly and Shaw out, we are a fair chance to beat the Giants I believe. Hun tipping was I think, 22-4 in the Giants favour......where's the faith?

Not much other news going on atm.

Have a great weekend everyone......Go Swans!!

We were huge underdogs with everyone last week. Suits the Swans.

We can't catch the Tigers but the Bombers can catch us. Go Tiges!

When you explain the game to Americans et al you go : once tackled you must try immediately to dispose of the ball by handball or kicking it.

However the Tigers have really evolved the tap or slap to advantage (not talking about ruck contests) without ‘taking possesion’.
They are very good at it in tight situations, it saves time and expedites their rapid charge towards the goal.

It’s more like volleyball movement of the pill really and it’s entirely legal and prevents being tackled.
It looks like they practice this .

Whoops, posted before I finished writing. Was just going to add, that they are probably one of the more talented sides to miss the finals. Can't say I feel much sympathy, though.

Umpire Nicholls paid a free against Motlop for a punch to the chest exactly like he did against Hanners last week. Both players were going at each other yet he picks out the free. Cost the Power a goal. Decisions like that really annoy me.

Gee Fremantle are embarrassing. 111 points and there's still 12 minutes to go in the last quarter.

How much better off would the Swans be if we hadn’t lost to GCS?!?

True, but we have won a number of close games this year that could have gone either way.

Hoping that Hawthorn beat the Saints and Brisbane also win, which will put the Saints in 16th place and in line for pick #4 in the draft.
We have to beat Hawthorn to make top 4 regardless of the Hawthorn result today.
