Mitchell must have stood on a few toes in Sydney when I wasn't watching.
I'm happy to say I believe he is a champion already, and will become an all time great.

It was the interview he and the other Hawthorne Princess Jaeger O’Meara did prior to the firs5 game against hawks this year. he was nothing short of petulant - had a massive dig at the Swans saying he didn’t agree with the selection process etc felt he deserved better - such entitlement!! The thing is I never thought that he ever really put in for us. And his heart certainly wasn’t with us in 2016. That’s why I don’t want him to get the Brownlow - I’d love it to be Max Gawn.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I will be most upset if he gets the Brownlow, I agree with Wardy, he comes across as an arrogant little twerp and very disdainful of the Swans.

He had 64 touches and kicked 4 goals in the ressies. He was playing NEAFL the next week.

          I'd be annoyed.

I say nonsense to the sense of entitlement. He WAS entitled. As I said, he must have stood on toes. And if he has spoken about not getting a fair go?? Well, I totally support that attitude. I don’t believe he did.

You can say nonsense all you like - like you I have an opinion so we Agree to disagree - what ever happened to “No “I” in team”? Still didn’t think much of him then - couldn’t care less now - not that he’ll lose any sleep over it. NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO ANYTHING IN THIS LIFE!!! The sooner some realise that the better off the world will be.

Looks as if the 742 players who voted for MVP have a pretty good opinion of him as well..Congrats Tom.

Of course , I respect your opinion, Wardy. You have been here a long time and talk an enormous lot of sense. We may not agree on this one, but that hasn't happened often.
I think we drift apart on 'entitlement'. I see being allowed to say he thought he was badly done by was legitimate, simply cos I think he was.
I don't see that as a sense of entitlement. Just a very good player unhappy about his talent not being recognised, and having the ticker to say so.
And I wish he was running out against GWS next week.

By the time he left us, he had been a permanent fixture in the senior team for two seasons. The days of him being stuck in the NEAFL were well in the past. The reasons were given at the time - he'd had a few injury interruptions and there were doubts over his fitness.

I didn't see/read the interview that Wardy refers to, so can't comment around the context/tone of whatever he said. But it does see weird to me that if he was still upset about events from three years earlier.

There certainly doesn't seem to be any warmth towards the Swans from Mitchell, for whatever reason. Compare that to JPK, who always talks well about the Hawks whenever relevant, despite spending less time there, and playing far fewer games and achieving far less, than Mitchell did at the Swans. Yes, I realise there is still a very strong family connection between Kennedy and the Hawks, but there was some family connection too for Mitchell and the Swans.

That's Mitchell's prerogative, but it's not hard to understand why (some) Swans fans would then feel less fondness towards him than we do towards some other ex-Swans now making their way at other clubs.

Spot on. Sick of hearing that he couldn't get a game and he left to play senior footy. Complete crap. He played 45 games in a row before he left.

It’s on the Hawks website, google the players’ names and Channel 7 and it will come up.

I have as little fondness for Tom as any Swans fans, but feel his comments in this particular interview (if it’s the one that has been referred to) have been misrepresented here.

That load of croc statement about Mitchell leaving Swans because he couldn't get a senior game, sounds like to me Hawks trying to get payback because JPK left them for that exact reason! In fact Clarkson didn't think JPK was any good. Watch the Open Mike interview with JPK Snr who begged Clarkson to give his son a few more games to help prove himself, in the hope he might get picked up. Clarkson didn't & JPK Snr was filthy. This is contrary to the BS statements from the Hawks after JPK began starring with us, that they would've loved to have kept him but it was hard to break into their so called elite midfield.
