I haven't seen last night's game and won't watch it, but there's no need for panic, we had a lot of injuries to key players this year but have uncovered new best 22 players. Remember Richmond 2016 to 2017, steady as she goes for us player wise but selections, positioning and tactics need a major revamp. Needs a dedicated thread once we've all cooled down.

Yes; Hawthorn moved on several of their champions, even though they still play good football at other club now.

They are not the future; we need a team with speed and so many of our player just don't have it.

A question, if we could have trade him to St Kilda or the GC for a first or second rounder, would you do it?

They were asking, we said no, and now our back line won't take a chance on a young player like Maibaum or get a new recruit.

Worrying about Toby's studs makes us look like poor losers. It's been happening in local footy since Jesus was a boy.

Get over it, unless you want to encourage more AFL knee jerk reactions

I can’t recall any other player who has had a deliberate, front on kick, marking technique.

And yes, I would like to encourage an AFL reaction, which sees that tactic banned.

AFL ain't 'local footy' barry......it sets the standard for every league in the country. Your lack of sensible insight is astounding sometimes.....and telling people to 'get over it' does not make one tougher or more intelligent. Do you want Toby Greene to be the trendsetter for the new generation of young players coming through? Think before you tap those keys for a change......

There’s no way we’d have got a first or second rounder for Macca. Look what Hawthorn got for Mitchell, Lewis etc. We would have got little but they’d free up space on our list.

I objected when Greene did it to Dahlhaus. I object at least 4 times more yesterday. I would object whether we won or lost. I find fending off an opponent with the stops of your boots objectionable in every way. It’s dangerous. What if that idiot connects with someone’s face or eyes. Or temple. It’s not just the stops. It’s also the force behind the foot. In contrast to a punch (and I object to those too) an airborne player using his foot to fend off with a boot essentially has the entire body mass behind it if that player has forward momentum and then this is mass is concentrated into the surface area of the sole of a single boot. Physics would suggest that this is a massive amount of force being applied to a single spot of the human anatomy. The face, the kidneys, the heart? Serious damage can be done.

Stupid, irresponsible and dangerous to do it. Stupid, irresponsible and dangerous to condone it.

                      Boring

It’s not against the rules. yet.

Toby Green got 27 touches and kicked 3. He is one of the best in the game and that is one of the reasons he is not liked.

He made Zac Jones look bad and Jones couldn’t help but throw his elbows around later. Again.

He needs a discipline lesson next because he got a football lesson last nite.

Can you imagine the crowd and Presidential reaction if he does it against Collingwood next week?

                          Re: Toby Greene.
It's really quite simple. Apparently there's no rule against such an action, so if the AFL don't like the look or anything else about the karate kick action they need to make a rule.

Just state that a player cannot fend off using a foot, even if it's incidental to the normal marking action of the player. Then the player has to change the technique to stay within the rules.

Nice attempt to divert attention.....it's got nothing to do with Jones that Greene is a dirty @@@@@ whose antics need to be curtailed by the league.....lest we have hundreds of little Toby thugs running around kicking opponents unabated in the future. Is that what you want?

No. The diversion is that Greene is a thug.

The reality is that he and the giants flogged the swans and there a plenty of sooks blaming the wrong thing.

And Jones is a grub as well. In the same territory. and people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones if they are upset

So you think those who are rightly complaining about Greene's dirty kicking tactic actually think that was the reason we lost the game? That's a reach if ever I've seen one.....and are you really actually implying Greene isn't a thug but just a fine footy player?
