#AFLFinals 2ndEF Swans vs Giants, SCG, Sat 8 Sep 4:20pm @sydneyswans #AFLSwansGiants
If you’re responding to my post BRISWAN, the point I’m making is that Bobby Skilton was a great player who did NOT whack people behind the play, and Leigh Matthews, albeit a great player, was one who DID whack people behind the play. In that regard, Skilton has always been the more admirable person.
Reminds me of what was said when there was talk of Plugger coming to the Swans after the Caven incident.
And when Dermie was reported to be moving north.
And to a lesser degree Hall.
The horror of Stevie J coming up as a coach was also very short lived.

Exactly. Mrs Tigers has reminded me a few times of my complete U-turn on Plugger from the Caven thing to talking him up
big time when I heard he was coming to the Swans. Now I don't get worked up about opposition players at all. Really they
are just people I don't know.

Jury is still out on Stevie J in my opinion. Forward line is our weak link, and he was hired by his old geelong mate.
Ironically, Toby Greene would be the perfect recruit for Sydney. He is the best 2nd forward in the game by a country mile.

I think the mids are our weak link.
If they could hit a target, or at least kick it to the advantage of the forward, then the forwards would look much better.

It's only been the defence that has kept us from losing more games this year.
They have been under siege more often than not, as many of our games the I50 counts have been against us.
But our R50 has been reasonably good.

I never thought any of those things.....but my opinion of Greene will never change and to say it would if he came to us is moot......as he will never be a Swan.
Ridiculous to say that. I'm sure the same was said about Lockett, Hall and even Buddy before they wore red and white as they were all hated players of opposition supporters! But they are all Swans legends and favorite sons of this club now for the great service and performances they have given us fans.
If a talent like Toby Greene happened to decide that he wanted to play in red and white next year then I'm sure everyone, including yourself, would be excited and happy to have him. I know I certainly would! And that goes for absolutely any other star in the league that wants to come across too!

Ummmmmmmmmmm. No
He's a dickhead of the highest order.
If they ever recruited him to this club, I'd hand back my memberships.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

That's right. He is contracted to GWS until 2024. I read somewhere he has the third longest contract of current AFL players.
Didn’t a fair few think Buddy was a DH before he became a Swan?
The press did their best to paint him as one.....I just always thought he was a freak who I'd love to have at our club. The day he was recruited was one of the most surreal and happy days of my life!!!
