Dean Towers appointed playing coach of University of NSW-Eastern Suburbs joining Brandon Jack. Best of luck for 2019. Great that former Swans are remaining to bolster the local clubs.

Good writeup about Towers’ new role:
‘Towers said he would be eternally grateful to Sydney for giving him an opportunity as a 22-year-old.
"It was just a great experience, and it will hold me in really good stead for the rest of my working life pretty much," he said.’

I wonder why Brandon Jack isn't playing NEAFL - more commitment than he wants to make now that he knows he isn't going to make it as an AFL player and wants to focus on his studies etc? In Deano's case it's a bit clearer because he wants the opportunity to gain coaching experience. Pretty massive contributors for a Sydney AFL side! All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

He's a good kid. One of my past sponsor children.
Always polite. Always stopped to say hello. Always looked like a kangaroo in the headlights when he got the ball.
Good on him.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I agree with all the comments. Good on Deano I hope things work out for him. Playing coach is a pretty hard gig though. Much harder than coaching from the line or box. He seems a nice young bloke.Comment
