On Perth Channel 9 news, they featured Lewis Jetta who is now playing Grade C football with the High Wycombe Bulldogs with his two brothers. Was a nice story - he is saying playing with his brothers is a dream.
Past players - what are they up to?

Here's a great article about arguably our highest profile ex-player (at least right now).
He was a key participant in the Stan paid per view “Turf War” which delivered great numbers for Stan.
Turf War, Stan’s first pay-per-view event, aired on March 23rd, and saw Sonny Bill Williams emerge as the victor over rival Barry Hall.
Barry is also participating in SAS Australia and his reflections on fatherhood are resonating with people everywhere.

I would argue that Barry Hall is the Swans highest profile ex player (at the moment)

Goodesy looks too young to be signing autographs in that photo. It must have been 1998-99?
And I always love the bulging disk @@@@ up. Especially Lisa Miller's contribution: somehow adding fuel to the flames, while stating that all she wanted to do was drink water.Comment

Hmm, after all these years posting, I've just discovered a new word that the swear filter gets. Starts with a 'c', ends with 'ck'. How quaint.Comment

The effort shown in the “ Turf War “ you mention did elevate his profile but not in a particularly positive way.
Barry will always have a place in Swans history but not in my opinion worthy of your, or for that matter anyone’s , adulation.Comment

I would have thought that even though he hasn't been active in the media lately that I'm aware of, Adam Goodes remains unquestionably our highest profile former Swan. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Not sure that the reflections of an ex footballer with anger management issues that half of Australia have limited awareness of on a commercial television channel “ Reality Show “ will resonate that deeply with as many people as you believe.

Barry has risen his profile recently and commercial networks do have strong numbers. I only expressed my opinion that (March 2022) he is the highest profile ex Swan. Armstrong’s TV career is going from strength to strength and he may be the highest profile ex Swan by June 2022.
Barry should be more celebrated for his roll in delivering 2005. I’m a bad footballer, but if you asked me what footballer you would most like to play alongside, I would say Barry Hall.Comment

A bit harsh. There is no doubt that Barry is a complicated man but so is Will Smith.

Barry was a match winner and one of the competition's best players during that period of the mid-2000s. He will always have a place in my heart for that reason. However, I agree that Goodes is currently our highest profile ex-player. He even makes an appearance in the just released Qantas "Still call Australia home" video. I think this reflects his standing. Of course, we also have ex-players that are prominent in the media including Healy and Jude.Comment

I think Barry would have given Chris Rock more than a slap in the same circumstances!

If resorting to violence over a somewhat innocuous remark is accepted condoned and applauded then we as a society are in strife.
And FWIW I was probably a worse footballer than BS ( given I took up the game at 42 ) but Barry would be way down the list of people I would like to play beside.
Lance or Adam would be well ahead in my dreams ????Comment
