That is interesting because there is talk the Bulldogs are also circling Darcy Moore. Prematurely retiring a player who is on $1m a season with no cap residue, certainly improves your big fish net!

According to the Daily Telegraph , we will have some cap space with the retirement of McVeigh and Ted Grundy

Crazy if they carry no cap hold for that contract, but if Buddy retired we were apparently going to be held to his.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

With both Tipungwuti and Fantasia rumoured to be on the way out. Bombers would surely be asking for Papley if we did decide to go for Daniher and they matched our offer. I personally hope we steer clear of Daniher.

However, Tom Browne reported last night that Brodie Grundy has put off contract talks with Collingwood. He is being offered a 3 year deal, when he wants 6-7 years.

I would much rather offer big $$$ to Tipungwuti than Daniher. Sure Daniher's potential is greater but he's always injured or inconsistent. We don't need another Reid. Tipungwuti is what we need. An exciting, consistent high-pressure small forward. We have enough tall forwards. Would absolutely love to have him in the team.

If the club thinks they can get him fit, I’d give pick 4/5 for Daniher in a heartbeat.

Michael Gleeson in the Age says Swans are very interested in Daniher and that our pick might interest the Bombers if they can use it to get someone like Jack Martin into the side.

I’m not convinced we are chasing him, but hope we are.

Perhaps we aren’t chasing him because of his groin issues.

I just realised he's only 25. Go for it. Perfect age to recruit.

After freeing ourselves of Hanners persistent groin issues who was on a hefty contract. Do we really want to give up a coveted top pick+players for a fella with the same issue on decent coin again for a lengthy period? No thanks.

consistent? maybe over the last six games but he was hot and cold for most of the season.

I tend to lean towards keeping that early draft pick if we can. You generally obtain a very good, long term player with picks at that level. Not guaranteed of course. We had Number 5 pick in 2002 and selected a player called McVeigh with it. Some good long-term value there! Of course, Rohan was a Number 6 so no guarantees.

What do people think about Ling? We have hardly seen him play since being recruited with our first pick. Is he is still under contract next season? If not, will he be de-listed? A tough one to deal with.

He’s contracted. And highly thought of. Really needs to have a good 2020. We have a lot of quick, outside type players who haven’t taken the step up to AFL level yet.

The bad news about going after Daniher is that they must believe Buddy is just about done and dusted.

Meet him at fan day, seems a great kid with not an ounce of fat on him.

If you play fantasy football put him in your team for next year.

Once over all these injures and a third pre season in him, my prediction is he will exploded (in a footy sense!!)
