      37 is a heavy weight to carry for a young guy. 1,2,3 allocated in the order drafted. Maybe there's a number upgrade for an established player?

        Your remarks regarding Taylor are particularly interesting. Micky O was taken at pick 40 in the 1994 draft and he was chosen that late over concerns about his professionalism. He proved them wrong.

          Probably my favorite ever Swan and a treat to watch over the years.

            1, 2, 3, 10, 17, 37, 40 are available.

            I expect 37 to be kept vacant next year. 40 could go to Rowles, a rookie.

            The other players needing numbers: Gould, Stephens, Elijah Taylor, Lewis Taylor, Warner. (Remember, we acquired two Taylors during the trading and draft period.)

            Possible numbers:
            1 = Warner
            2 = L. Taylor
            3 = Stephens (obvious choice)
            10 = Gould
            17 = E. Taylor (close enough to 19)

              Gould to take Reg Grundy's number 39?

                If there's a lot to be said for Elijah taking 19, Ling may be happy to swap. No. 19 hasn't done Ling any favours so far.

                AJ abandoned #32 for #2.

                Lockyer surrendered #23 to Buddy.

                  Barry O'Connor will be 17 :-)

                  Think 37 will be kept in the locker for a while yet.

                  Caught Micky O on a number of occasions at Swans functions, what a fine human being he is and still involved at the club, also got budding young Swans at home.

                    We're forgetting Sam Gray as well.

                      I think you'll find AJ was #34

                        Right you are. But my point remains. Ling may be happy to relinquish #19.

                          Yes, I was going to suggest that O'Riordan could upgrade from 38 to 17: as that was Tadhg's old number and a number that's popular with Irish imports, because St Patrick's day falls on the 17th. But O'Connor donning the 17 would also work.

                            Agree 3 for Stephens. Reckon Gould should take the Paul Roos number 1. Open to Taylor taking 37.

                            Sam Gray also needs a number.

                              Everyone wants that coveted Tom Derickx jumper. Who can blame them?
