How do we play Sinks Reid Mcxartin and Buddy and when we go forward only ever have Buddy as a marking option 90% of the game ?
Lloyd need a rocket way too many 20m kicks and when he goes long from the goal square for safety he doesnt go wide enough
Mills is a waste back there

We were decimated by injuries that year. Not the case this year.

Exactly. Who would have thought that if Dawson played a few games in a row he might actually get a feel for the speed of AFL and start to get comfortable??? I find it crazy that us supporters have been calling out for this for at least 12 months or more yet only now it happens... what would we all know I guess?

And I do think it's almost time to start looking to play the kids as another poster mentioned earlier. But if we do, play them in the position that we want them to play in the future, not as a half forward or forward pocket as we always seem to do when blooding youngsters. We need to see what they can do and playing them out of position at AFL level seems pointless! Same with Mills and Co.

You think the current coaching and recruiting set-up is capable of winning a premiership in the next decade?

We are a young team that's going to go through pain before we get better. Our clangers were made for the most part taking the game on. We need to persist until our skills get better. Go to go back a bit to go forward. Patience and tolerance needed.

Not the way Horse is coaching. We cannot play short kicks all night and then turn the ball over in the centre so they have an easy way to goal.

Hopless coaching and he will not change - nor is incapable of changing. Look how any goals we have scored this year - lowest in the comp.

I wouldn't think so but who knows? Things change in footy every year, teams come from nowhere these days so you never know but it certainly isn't looking good.

But we need to go backwards now before we go back up. Rebuild with some quality kids and maybe a decent trade or 2. We haven't done this in many years but the bubble had to burst eventually. It's whether or not people trust Horse an Co. to be able to rebuild, which is something they've never really had to do due to being handed over a strong veteran team.

Buddy gets booed more than anyone but no one here had suggested anything until......oh wait!

I think we'll leave it there.

Agree here in part. But our skills have been poor for many years now and you dont teach 22 or 23 year olds like Papley, Ronke etc how to kick at that age. They either have it or they don't and unfortunately for many of our players it's the latter.

But I agree that we will need to go backwards to get better, but that will have to be through recruiting some more quality kids to replace our poorly skilled ones.

I would say probably not but Horse won't last another two years if things keep going in this direction, so change will happen well before ten years and success should follow that change.....I doubt we'll be waiting a decade.

we need to hang on like grim death anyone that can hit a target over 25m..... pretty thin on the list for such players

You need to have someone of a better calibre available, who's that then?

Bloody oath! Dawson is quality. We don't have a whole lot of it in regards to foot skills. There is a couple of bottom age Academy boys that should also add to that but unfortunately we must wait!
