It would mean something to any Swans player who is invested in the Bloods culture.....ie: hopefully every Swans player. As for your coin toss/team lead out suggestion......is that even relevant? Is Dylan related to Frank Brew? Otherwise, this is a pretty pointless question.
Players in the past have remarked on the continuity they feel with other players, particularly those that have preceded them in their jumpers - some of whom have had their names painted on locker doors.Last edited by Ruck'n'Roll; 21 August 2020, 08:24 PM.Comment

The link, is that he wears Frank's old number on his back.

Now I'm sure you regard the astonishing prolific 900 posts you spew out every year to be of a far higher quality than anything I've ever written in all my years here.
However, your post has clarified things or me.
I have enjoyed RWO over the years, mainly prior to your appearance, and had some amazing conversations. Many of them decidedly left field, or as you put it so pleasantly - "pointless" and insufficiently "relevant"
But frankly these days, rather than an eclectic mix of RWOers engaging with each other and exchanging ideas, RWO seems to contain far too many people simply shouting their strident opinions again and again with no reference to anyone else's thoughts.
Those whose posts simply aim to score petty points or belittle other RWOers are no more enjoyable, and my response has customarily been a PM.
On this occasion I've decided my response will be to take my irrelevance's elsewhere and leave RWO to you and other like minded onanist's for a bit. Bye.Comment

I certainly hope you keep posting RnR! You bring a dimension to our discussions that most others can't. You have an outstanding appreciation for (and knowledge of) the history of the club.
Plus, you are our #1 ruck advocate. Without you, 2018 Ludwig (a frothy drop) might have won the day and persuaded the rest of us that our club doesn't need rucks! And we'd all be poorer for that.
Also, a salutary reminder to people to post more considerately. Can't say I appreciate the aggro on here either. If that's what I were after, I might defect to BF.All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

I've only just come across this short video of the club doing a footy clinic with the South Melbourne Districts FC early in the year, just before the first covid-19 wave & everything turning upside down (can see the Grand Prix road barriers in the background around Albert Park before the event was eventually cancelled). Dylan Stephens is featured & good to see the new recruits get first hand introduction how the club transitioned from the SMFC. Warms my heart seeing the club maintaining it's roots to SMFC with things like this.

Two Richmond players caught in a brawl outside a Gold Coast strip club! Breaching quarantine rules in the process. Stack and Coleman Jones. Interesting to see what punishment is dished up!

That is Sidebottom-esque as breaches go. Surely 4 weeks each ... is that the same as 4 games?Comment

Why would it be anything other than season ending for the pair?He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

They haven't broken State quarantine, as ET did, only hub rules, but its at the upper end as Sidebottom's was (for stupidity, bad look etc). He got 4 weeks. I guess it depends how much it annoys and embarrasses Gill?Comment

I'd say this is worse than Sidebottom's transgression. Dumb as he was, he didn't circulate with the general public at a time when the AFL has made Queensland centre of attention for the rest of the season. The Queensland government has applied it's quarantine rules to AFL players flying in and out of the state far more liberally than one other state (which may have cost that state the GF), presumably on the basis that the AFL hub rules add a layer of protection.
It's not just a case of these two getting into a brawl. It's also why on earth they were at (or at least outside) a strip club at 3am in the morning. Although the community transmission of the virus is very low in Queensland at the moment, it's not nil. Their (apparent) breach of hub rules poses a greater risk to bringing the virus into the AFL hub set up than Taylor's actions did, notwithstanding he breached state laws (and not in anyone trying to defend his decision).Comment
