Maybe we should ask to go into a hub and play our home games in Tasmania, where I believe we have a 100% record.

Why can’t we win at the SCG anymore? It’s a serious question. Have we become a more outside running team and therefore less suited to the contested footy that the SCG prefers?

Another troll! So you have to post over 200 before you're allowed to have a valid opinion?

So you think Lloyd's effort not to tackle an opposition player unworthy of comment?

That was disappointing. Feel especially shattered for JPK.

Too fumbly, we looked cooked early (even tho they were the ones two players down), dreadful F50 entries, etc. Dogs were the exact opposite of all this - Bont and the Mullet are outstanding players.

Paps was fab, liked McInerney's first half, and liked the renewed effort from all in the second half. But our depth continues to haunt us - after giving Fox, Cunningham and McLean a rap last week, they were all positively awful this week; not sure what we can do about that. Nick Blakey might be more useful helping his old man out in the coaches box at this point.

Oh well. Is it too early to start tanking?

The Swans do have a ruck conundrum.

Naismith smashed English in hit outs but we lost the clearances, I think because our on ballers are slow. And English beat Sam around the ground.

I hate to mention him, but Nankervis couldn’t get a game with the Swans because, again I think, our game plan requires a ruckman to win hit outs whereas other clubs (Tigers, Doggies) don’t.

We are part way through transitioning to a quicker onball brigade, but right now, we need someone like Naismith rather than someone like English. And there are only a couple of players like Grundy that give you both.

Or is it possible we could become a dominant centre clearance team with the Parker, Kennedy, Hewett combo with different coaching?

I hope they can find a way to get games into players like Gould, Stephens, Ling, Taylor etc whilst being competitive.[/QUOTE]

Now this is what I'd love to see! We know we really aren't a contender this year so let's see what our top young talent can do and bloody develop them! There is no NEAFL for them to learn anything!

Disappointing, but we are still a young team on the whole. The thing that impressed me most was the way the Doggies seem to have people spread to run and tight to stop the opposition run. We showed flashes of it, but they were much more consistent and handled pressure better than we did overall.

And our kicking for goal was abominable, apart from Papley's great effort.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Non-competitive in the ruck for another 12 months. Man.
