Agree with wolftone - a noticeable difference in Blakey's play since last year is he's played more selfishly. He needs to be a little more accountable. Longmire was asked about him earlier in the week and acknowledged he'd been off and sort of intimated that he might have been spelled if the injury list wasn't as long. Anyway, another opportunity to improve tomorrow.

Not surprised to see the return of McCartin, or Sinclair. Still a very small forward line. A bit rough on McCartin to expect him to play the role of KPF on his own. I wonder what role Blakey will play.
Yeah how can Aliir turn around poor form with no game? His form was not any worse than Blakey, O'Riordan, Cunningham and a few others.

You don't get formback at training you get it back playing

Is that where you run between the boundary line and the stands?

I learned a bit from that phone call home by Elijah: ET doesn't stand for extra talkative.

His highlight reel is very impressive. Could he be our very own Izak Rankine?

A good portion of our 2024 premiership team will be on show Saturday. Something for the 'plastic spooners' (just not bad enough to get the wooden version), to get excited about.

So is McInerney but he was managed. Rowbottom is best 22 but don't be surprised if he sits out a few matches here and there, particularly over the coming months with more five and six day turnarounds. Same goes for Blakey, Stephens and Warner.

Yes why he was dropped in the first place is baffling. Someone said Horse said Aliir trained on Saturday and looked good. Well he must have trained alone because the reserves were playing in Sydney and he was up in Qld with the main group and was a late out.

The article mentions Hardwick's back down. I would have been livid with the way the game was played too. In fact I was livid. It was the worst game of footy I have seen in 20 years. Maybe not as bad as the game against Grant Thomas' Saints in Canberra way back. But close. At least that day we were the ones trying to attack not the opposition. Horse's tactics gave us little chance of scoring let alone winning. But we nearly did win. Sad really. I'd rather not see a repeat of that match. Why not back the players in? He is all about negative and defensive tactics not about scoring. I am totally sick of it. I love the Swans but they are hard to watch atm.

A couple of weeks ago we played at breakneck speed against the Eagles and turned it over. I got sick of the turnovers. Let's not overact on one game in the wet where we were a team of short arses by necessity.

If McInnerney was managed why is he not back now we need players. He was dropped. Simple really

Yes we did. I was not worried about turnovers. We were taking the game on. This going totally defensive is rubbish. You will never win games, doing that. In fact you could get well and truly blown away if they are a wake up to what you are doing. Wet weather is no excuse for that pathetic style of footy. It was the worst coaching I have ever seen. I'd rather get blown away trying to develop a winning game style than play that rubbish.

Actually Lewis Taylor was best by a country mile. Something like 35 touches and a couple of goals. I am not sure why he is in the doghouse.

Aliir played in the scratch match against Melbourne (played in Sydney) on Saturday. Barracuda reported in the scratch match thread that AA rucked all match and looked good.

The seniors flew up to Brisbane on Sunday morning. I’d be surprised if AA went with them.

Knowing our teams history with these things I would bet it is something to do with ‘defensive efforts’ or ‘2 way running ‘. Can get 100 touches for the swans reserves and not get a game if you don’t meet the coaches standard on those things. Which is understandable but also a bit of a shame. Gone are the days when you can just be a ball winner / user alone. Perhaps to the detriment of the spectacle of the game, everyone has to be able to apply pressure and play defence.

Who said it was? But Longmire has a long record of going defensive and closing games down. If you can't coach a team to play decent footy in the wet then give up. The tactics used were a disgrace. I don*t give a @@@@ how wet it was.
