Buddy has come to ET's defence (on racism) as has Zac Williams:

    Category: | Herald Sun

“Like everyone at the club I’m incredibly disappointed in Elijah’s selfish actions, they were unacceptable and I understand everyone’s anger,” Franklin told News Corp. “But the racist comments directed at him are unacceptable. There is and never will be an excuse for racism. This week is really special for Indigenous players with Indigenous Round – it’s about celebrating culture. As a society we need to call out racism and make it clear that we will not tolerate it, and we will not be silent on it.”

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

For anyone who is interested, I fully support Franklin....without any inserts.

I fully support what Buddy says and every other indigenous player who makes a similar statement, the sad thing is what actions are taken to make a stand? The AFL will suspend a membership (for those that make these racist comments that would be a badge of honour). Get tough on the matter, hunt them down and have them come face to face with those they have taunted. Then when they are forced to come face to face with the victim may they begin to learn the pain they cause. They should be shamed in public for their cowardly acts

Two Port players about to be sanctioned for having people over after their last win. It will interesting to see how their penalties compare.

                From today's Age.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Maybe we can have a whole team of Covid offenders. We can change our name to the Covidians. The Covidians are Coming. Sounds scary. To beat the Covidians you need more than talent. More than courage. You need a mask and common sense. Can't see any team bringing that..

Anything less than what ET got can only be explained by the entrenched racism at AFL house.
They have a well worn formula whenever an aboriginal is involved. Fan the flames, then issue a statement condemning racism, then do nothing. Rinse, repeat.

Despite the terrible treatment of Goodes, not sure this is entirely true to be fair. Shaun Burgoyne treated leniently after two dangerous tackles whilst other players rubbed out for similar actions. Not a fan of the spin doctors, Victorian bias and inconsistencies of the AFL but above is a bit over the top.

This gets more interesting every minute. Seems it happened 3 weeks ago and Port allegedly tried to conceal it. The whisper is there may be a loss of points involved in the penalty.

I think you are downplaying the racism shown in the Goodes saga. It was northing short of abominable, and cant be easily dismissed, since all the same villians are still there.

Not downplaying it at all. Disgraceful. Response would be different now surely. Shocking that Goodes had to suffer. It was some time ago and better now to judge each case on its merits. Big generalisation based on one terrible episode. AFL far from perfect in many ways as I've posted consistently but reckon you've gone too hard here.
