Amen. Looked forward to this game all week. Small mercies in lockdown. This kind of performance doesn’t help !!!

The history books have it as our lowest score as the Sydney Swans. I don’t think it’s will be forgotten quickly.

But then again, how bad does that make GW$ look?

Slightly strangely, we probably missed Rampe offensively, more than defensively. That is, he often, especially lately, plays on instantaneously and takes aggressive options. Tonight, even though our defence played well, we didn't really have that decisive rebound.

              Positives only:
              - Good game from Melican on Taberner. Real position of need and it's great to see he still has it. Thickish silver lining.
              - Another good one from Rowbottom. Hard bloke. Didn't get much help inside
              - Stephens tackles well and doesn't panic
              - Much improved from Florent
              - Kinda feel we might see Buddy next week.

It seemed like we were finally able to move the ball more in that last quarter but for most of the game, whenever we won a contest, we weren’t able to feed it out to the outside and so had to rush kick.

Don’t underestimate Freo either. They have the 2nd best defensive record in the league. That doesn’t just come from their backs but due to the pressure around the contest.

To beat a side that applies that much pressure takes good skills executed quickly. We are just not there yet. The Giants are a poor defensive side and allowed us the freedom to move the ball with a bit more time. Freo were attacking every contest. We would have had to take some great contested marks, break tackles and find a man moving into open space. None of that happened. I don't think our players were that bad. We just need to sharpen up as a team. I doesn't come overnight.

A game like this makes for a poor spectacle.

There was one shocker in the last quarter, then Bell rightly got pinged.

Liking we dropped below Hawthorn (who also play the Crows next week so another win for them) and we now have pick 3 again, all good!

This is the worst game I have ever seen from a Swans team. They were insipid against another developing team. Putrid in fact. But it was not the players who were to blame. It was the coaching. It was so negative we were never going to win anything. Last week we made space and hit up players. This week we just BOMBED!!!!? @@@@ that is so frustrating.

I watched the terrible '90's. They were terrible and we did not expect any better. The coaching was cringworthy. But today we expecf a lot more. We have had a terrible journey tk where we are now but we always think we will come out of the funk. If our coaches continue in this vein we will not be a competitive team next year either. Last week showed what could be done. But we completely changed our game style and it was a negative game style. Only designed to negate their pressure.

I hated this game. It was not a spectacle at all. I have seen better Glenelg/Sourh Adelaide District Thirds matches than this one. It was one of the worst matches ever played in any competition. The conditions were perfect for good attacking footy but both coaches only went into this match with one mindset. To negate the opposition. No thought for the poor people who were trying to watch this tripe.

I am sick and tired of seeing this type of footy. I am sick and tired of making excuses to my international friends about the terrible state of AFL footy as a whole. We used to have such a wonderful game. But coaches have killed it. What part the coaches have not killed the umpires have. The worst umpiring poll anel in AFL/VFL history where most of them would not even know what rule was what. The AFL does not help constantly talking about interpretation. Dropping the ball is incorrect disposal @@@@wits. Throwing is throwing whether knocked out in the contest or not. Holding is holding. Just go basic @@@@ing idiots. But odmf course the AFL does not want that does it?

The state of the game has got so bad that umpires do not umpire the rules as a whole they umpire rule of the week. The coaches are so @@@@ing scared of being sacked that they have hijacked the game and turned it into this negative, defensive piece of @@@@ing offal that is impossible to even like let alone love.

Yep, also they're at home, a bit older, lost a narrow, tough game last week, and their superstar played.

Well played Freo, though. They were hard all game, organised, and showed a bunch of skill.

Fair call. Freo were outstanding defensively and with their pressure..Our backline was very good considering we were hammered in the clearances especially in the second and third quarters. Battled it out in the last.

Yes, I thought Melican was pretty good, and he was also keen to get the ball moving quickly. And I do hope that we see Buddy soon: I was missing him tonight. Reid didn't really enthuse me. Although the Freo defence was getting away with a lot. Certainly the were only really enforcing the push in the back rule for one side.

Lowest score in games that are considerably shorter, to be fair. A lot of very low scores this year.
