The Age, and Caro in particular, are behaving like propaganda chiefs rather than impartial journalists.
Caro was on outsiders last weekend (catch it on iview if you like), where the resident soccer guy was explaining how the movable A-league grand final has been a great thing to soccer fans around the country because it enables fans in these cities access to the premier event of the season.. And Caro dismissed it, even though its a very good argument. She is not representing the position of many people who live outside Victoria who wont get the chance to experience a home AFL grand final.
Any impartial journalist would see the value in a movable grand final. You'll never get cut-though penetration in NSW and QLD until its viewed as a national league with all states being equal.
As the NRL bloke said on that show, having all the games in QLD (with f.a. fans attending), is not improving QLD AFL much at all. It has not cut-through.
And AFL coverage is basically non-existant in Sydney this winter.
